IF THEY(UBER) TELL YOU WHAT YOU GOT SUSPENDED FOR WHO AND FOR WHAT
BUT DON'T TELL YOU FOR 5 DAYS
AND OF COURSE YOU FORGET THE DASHCAM ERASES FOOTAGE THINKING ABOUT IT WAS SOMETHING ELSE THEY SUSPENDED YOUR ACCOUNT FOR
This is why anyone with a brain has a collection of numbered SD cards and swap them out every day.

It doesn't have to upload real time. Just every so often or even twice a day.

Peter
Not true. The important part to preserve is the few minutes just before the cam is stolen or destroyed. The rest of the day doesn’t matter.
What I would like to see is real time streaming to a drive concealed in the trunk or under a seat. That at least is technically feasible and could preserve some evidence.

I'm not sure I understand your comment. What gets uploaded is the exact same video saved on the cam's memory card, no matter when it gets uploaded, real time or some time later.

If a thief or carjacker takes your car they also take your dashcam - and the video it contains. You are left with no evidence. The first thing they are going to do is remove the SD card or destroy the camera, preventing any upload.
Only real-time transfer of the video to cloud or a hidden storage device will protect the video.
If you get into an accident violent enough to damage the camera - for example if the car burns - all video evidence not already uploaded is lost.

Fair enough but I meant about the video of your rides not any other events. Are there any dash cams that do real time upload? One of my cams will upload only on wifi so I have to be in range of a wifi signal before upload starts. Generally his is good enough for me.

Thanks for clarifying!

Peter

Your back seat door doesn't open? Believe me dude that doesn't prevent any false accusation
My front seat door doesn’t open. I don’t get out of the car and I have video records to prove it. It may not prevent a false accusation but it lets me defend against one.

The problem with that is how long it takes to load 128gb to the cloud
Don't try to upload 128 GB it's all at once.

Doing it daily would be a better option.

Yeah yeah I know people are lazy and they ain't going to want to do it but still. What happens if that 128 GB SD takes a shit and you've got all these files sitting on there now you can't retrieve?

When I had my false accusation I hired an attorney and he brought civil litigation for me, ended up being WEEKS of lost wages with uber before I got reactivated. It was a $12,500 settlement with 25% ($2,500) being his % for the civil suit, and the another $1,000 or so being his legal costs for the criminal charges. Would have been another $1,000 out of the settlement for just the bail bond but I just put up the cash myself and didn't go through a bondsman.

I need to specify... a decent lawyer cost me $1,000 when I had proof I was innocent.

But then again I got stupid ass lucky because I had dash camera proving 100% of what she claimed was 10000% bullshit.

I think I ended up with an extra $2-3,000 over just the last week I was deactivated thou. Uber could and should have reactivated me sooner but support was being stupid. Her dad's lawyer balked at paying for that last week but..

NO.. it's her fault that my reputation with uber was tarnished and their inability to reactivate me isn't my fault it's her problem to cover.

It was basically the same case twice over. The first time proving I was innocent and getting my record (including the arrest) expunged and the second time was proving that she lied on the accusation.

Proving you are innocent is hard enough, proving that you're accuser knowingly lied and caused you damage is another matter entirely.
When did they arrest you after the false accusation
