"good evening, Felicia. I would like to offer you a discount. how much is uber or lyft charging you?"

"i can do the ride for $5 - $10 less if you want to zelle or cashapp me. If not, we can just continue trhough the app."

then i cancel the ride so rider is not charged, and then rider can cancel.

what say you?

All fine and dandy IF you have commercial insurance (and a vehicle for hire license) but the savings isn't worth it cause it's expensive. Uber does allow you to do other apps and services, but won't take too kindly to you outright stealing trips.

If you take others for hire without the State mandated requirements and commercial insurance (taxi) you will be arrested, sued if in an accident, fined and your driving PRIVILEGES (not a right) revoked until you've paid up.

Airport pickups etc, also have their own rules, stickers, fees etc. Something Uber takes care of for you or gives you instructions when you arrive (like displaying trade dress). Airports are always looking for pirate taxis. Cameras everywhere.

With Uber the commercial insurance is on the trip only booked through the app, why Uber is cheaper usually.

Uber's algorithm is searching for those doing exactly what your proposing (stealing customers) and will suddenly drop you for fraud. And from using Uber as a rider even.

It is possible to be the closest driver (no others around for 6+ minutes) to receive the ping. So pre-arrangements are possible. Just not closer than 10 feet between you and customer or phone signal drowns out your phone making you invisible.

As long as your cutting Uber in..and going through the app.

Hey you dropped them off there and know they have to come out sometime right? 😂

There are those going to work at the same time everyday, you just happen to know that and be closest to get the ping. Part of your morning routine, take Joe into town and Uber around, be at his job at 5 to get the ping that sends you home as well. Nothing wrong there.

You fsck Uber they fsck you more than your already being fscked, along with the State, the DMV, attorneys and the courts.

Don't be a pirate. It's not worth it. Cash tips are fine, cash tips in lieu of a fare payment off the app is not.

Street hails and off-platform pickups
To enhance the safety of each experience, off-platform pickups are prohibited. The law prohibits street hails while using the Uber platform, so never solicit or accept payment outside the Uber platform. Riders and Uber Eats users should not pay for trips or deliveries in cash, and riders should not request trips from drivers outside of the Uber platform.
See the catch here is "outside of the Uber platform". Stay on the platform, even if pre-arranged, then your good.

i appreciate that grand master yoda.

just wondering if it's worth to pay the extra $800 for commerical insurance a month and try to steal 2-3 trips away from uber and lyft. not too frequently to get caught by their algorithm but enough to cover the cost of insurance so i can jump to uber lblack.

Heres my great observation.... Folks that I pick up at the airport, and take home, to their vacation home or a hotel often need a ride back to the airport in a week or a month or a year. And folks I take to the airport usually come back

Before the pandemic I was building a little airport transportation business, I bought commercial insurance, got the permits, printed business cards, and gave most of my uber/lyft airport passengers my card and suggested they call me the next time they needed a ride to or from the airport

A lot of the guys in the airport lot have been doing this for a while and are now driving big black cars

If you get a ride say 50 miles uber x and cancel . Take cash. Do you not belive the app on or off can track you.. tos breaking. Heck they can listen in now .
Ok free advice. As I don't need this crap.
Delete the app take the ride. Reinstall app. U better make sure you got the commercial insurance.
