What to do when passengers have a baby and you don't have a car seat?

I found myself in two situations where passengers had a toddler and I didn't have a child seat. Both times I decided to take them to their destinations and was scared to death to get pulled over and get a ticket. But I'm thinking from now on I better reject the ride and explain to them the reason. Any suggestions? What do you do?

That's the first thing I ask when I see a toddler before they even get in the veh. Do you have a car seat ? 9/10 times its inside . Other wise don't take a chance , let them figure it out . they know better .

AT the car show on Houston they often have a booth set up where you sit in a seat belted in holding an "infant" and they have it go down a small incline and stop. It simulates an 8 mile per hour crash into an immovable object.

Almost everyone cannot hold on to it. And this is KNOWING the "crash" is coming. Yes, cars will crumple and the deceleration is not as sudden but most crashes are not 8 mph either.

you could also keep one just in case , so you don't lose the fare . I never could bring myself to do it but maybe you can . To be Fair you shouldn't be put in that situation because ppl that don't have the car seats simply just don't care and don't understand even after you explain it to them most the time .

Got a call to pick up a couple with a kid going to the Indian grocery. Kid looked about 4 , told him I couldn't take him - he seemed to expect my answer and asked me if I could cancel and I said sure as the timer had just run out. Guess he thought it would be a freebie. Thanks for the $10 spot. I think he pulled that on me before when he called from the Indian grocery wanting me to bring him home, in which I received another $10. They assume we have the same policy as cabs as he mentioned it the first time and I told him we are not cabs. Seems to be a source of confusion about children, seat belts, etc. as the adults seem to think they shouldn't belt themselves either.

Their kid their problem!

No car seat child is not covered by Lyft or Uber insurance! Now it’s your problem!

Your car seat your problem, get into crash, pax lawyer says who’s car seat? Oh uh divers, lawyer says defective car seat. Guess who’s problem yours!

Don’t even help buckling them in, you get into crash, lawyer says who buckled in? Driver let me guess your problem.

Don’t put yourself into liabilities, for pennies we make!

Their kid their problem end of story!

You are in compliance with UBER TOS and most State regulations. Please keep in mind the following questions as you cancel:

1) Did you maintain a pleasant and courteous tone with the customer?
2) Could your actions be construed as discrimination (ethnic, religious, age, etc...)?
3) Is there a service animal present with the Pax?
4) Is the pax in imminent danger (domestic violence, assault, etc...)?

It hard out there to be an UBER. Good luck.
