So I've been driving with Uber for the past 6 six months (give or take a few weeks) and I rarely ever stay logged into the app if the day is really quiet. I'm not going to just sit in my car for half an hour or more to see if anyone's going to send out a ping or drive around until I get a ping either. It just feels like a waste of my time to sit around doing nothing. Yet at the same time I feel like if I did stay logged in and toughed out the really quiet times of the day I could probably squeeze out a few more rides, thus making more money in the process.
So what do you guys do when days are really slow? Do you go out for a bit and if nothing pops up, drive home, then go out later to try again/repeat the process over? Or do you sit around in your car and wait? I'd love to actually drive for about the same time as an average part time job but when days are quiet it's tough to stay cooped up in my car doing little to nothing but twiddle my thumbs.
I drive in Fargo, ND for anyone that cares and weekends here are generally insane with the number of bars we have located downtown. Other than that Sunday-Thursday are a major hit and miss for me personally.
