The California Massachussets Uber driver settlement leaves the lawyers rich and TNC drivers left between a rock and a hard place with no clarification of what rights drivers are entitled to under the Federal antitrust law called the Sherman Act.

The Sherman Act that prevents you from unionizing ALSO entitles each driver to set his own rate or accept/reject fare bid requests that riders offer. The Sherman Act makes it illegal for Uber Lyft Whoever to predatory price fix independent contractors.

It is imperative drivers get this message to the attorneys, judge, and all drivers affected by this case.

This may be drivers last shot to stop exploitation. Uber is stringing everyone along as it works on the Federal Level to legally take away all your labor and antitrust rights by trying to force creation of "New Class of Independent Worker" that is not protected by any existing laws.

Get your voice heard. Let world know you reject "New Class of Independent Worker". Your are either
A. Employee
B. Independent Contractor that sets his own rates in compliance with Sherman Act.

Honestly for the same reason Uber has gotten away with all it has:
1. No one understands the Vehicle for Hire Industry/ Drivers Available for Public Hire Industry from a pro driver pro consumer comprehensive solution because the people fighting the war (Uber and Big Taxi) are working from an anti driver anti customer profit motive.

2. Regulators, Judges, Lawmakers are all compartmentalized and not on the same page. They dont understand the industry as a complete system. They are captured by special interests in alot of cases.

3. Media refuses to write stories about this because alot of media sources have uber investors.

4. Very possible Shannon not qualified on antitrust law OR waa just looking to "cash out"

Sorry, but the I don't believe any of that. I believe lawyers (Shannon) understand the Sherman Act.
I believe Shannon understands the Sherman Act as well, which was B. "Just looking to cash out"

Right now in the "public vs uber" lawsuit the antitrust case is proceeding that claims uber and uber drivers conspired to price fix. Right now Travis K is the only driver named in the suit as he did fares as a promo for Uber. But the suit can add every single driver as a defendant.

Shannon Im sure is aware of this case yet didnt take any action to clarify your independent contractor status by demanding you get to each set your own rates to be in Compliance with Sherman Act, or take the employee case to trial.

Would have done 2 things

1. Clarifying worker status to get protection provided by that worker status, employee or self rate setting contractor.

2. Protect drivers from any future price fixing antitrust lawsuits.
