New to the forum. I live in the outskirts of the Chicago Suburbs. I just started doing uber eats like a week ago. I don't have a problem with driving 15-20 min to pick up food, but I think its kind of unfair that I don't get compensated at least a little by driving 5-6 miles there. If I'm getting these requests that means I am the closest available driver, right? It's stupid of me to waste 20 min to make 3 dollars, and then not get tipped (I'm learning people are stingy af. )
Just to vent some more, I drove 5 miles to a McDonalds for an order. The order is pretty large: 4 large drinks, 2 large shakes, a milk, 4 meals and a happy meal. The delivery was literally a mile. I ended up getting ~$3.50 and no tip. The total time it took me from accepting to completion was about 23min. 90% of that was driving there! Pisses me off. Side note: We need a rating system for customers as well, seriously.
