Wow. No one that I know is forcing you to drive for Uber. If you don't like the company, if you don't like their rules, if you don't like whatever, don't work for them any more. Go get a job at Walmart or Wendy's or a local pizza shop or somewhere that you'll be treated with respect and your complaints will be addressed.

You newbies always crack us up. We thank you for the unintended levity.

I love how the newbs always come out here with the same approach. Then they gain a little experience, become more informed, and realize that there is a ton of awesome information out here...that is if they last more than a month.

Lets see you are happy Atlantawheels with .68 & .75 CPM before comm. And I guess you have the magic formula that only new members know and the people that have been driving for a while just hasn't figured out. When I first joined this forum and Atlanta was at $1 PM and all the veterans were posting how they were making min wage after expenses I thought I knew better. After time you realize you are not making much with expenses. Sure if you don't want to count maint, gas, wear & tear, depreciation. I mean expensing all maint not just when they occur. But when your desperate you don't want to admit that your making no money. All you care about is immediate cash flow. And when I say desperate this is not said to belittle you.

Some don't have a choice, some just don't realize the cost of driving and see everything other than gas as a profit.

Uber does not live in my head but what does live in my head is how they take advantage of the desperate and uneducated (about expenses).

You see I thought all the veterans who told me what I am telling you were a@@holes. I thought they were trying to keep thier goldmine to themselves. I thought what they were telling me were lies. I apologize as it took me time to realize they were correct. And I believe the same will happen to you.

Happy Holidays and be safe all.
You, too!

Not saying it's perfect. I'm not making a million dollars either. If I do it for a few months and see I'm losing money I'll do something else. The first thing to do when your in a hole is to quit digging. The point I was making was why stay somewhere when your miserable.

I'm a newbie to this forum, I just found it a couple of days ago. Not a newb to Uber driving, been doing that for almost a year (not counting the 3.5 months Uber service was suspended in my area in a political dispute). Not disputing that Uber is frustrating to deal with sometimes, nor am I saying I never get angry with something Uber-related. All I'm saying is that they do not treat drivers worse than any other company that thrives on minimum-pay workers. If you find it unbearable to drive for Uber, then don't drive. That's all I'm saying. Talking about work stoppages and such is foolish and a complete waste of your time.

When I signed on to this forum, I thought it would be a good place for me to get information and learn how to be the best possible driver. Was I wrong?
The best possible driver for YOU or for the pax and Uber?

Those two are incompatible. Most on this forum will try to help YOU. Except for handicapped pax or those with service dogs the pax are doing just fine.

Other minimum wage jobs are generally less risky (driving, even more so driving people, is dangerous) and don't involve using your personally owned expensive piece of equipment.

They also don't lie about how much money you will make.

I think I've mentioned things like workmen's compensation and unemployment insurance before.

OK. So why are you drving for Uber then?

I don't drive for Uber. I don't need to have a part time job. I have a good job with benefits. It was spending money for me one weekend a month. My complaint is with Ubers predatory lending (rentals & lease deals). They cannot stop driving no matter what the CPM are. They prey on the desperate and uneducated. Thats why I post here. In Atlanta the CPM is .75 for UberX & .68 for UberFool. People have quit thier job and started driving Uber. Most wish they had thier higher paying with benefits job back. Uber has ruined and continue to ruin peoples lives. No company constantly lowers your pay. They will keep paying less and less until they find just how desperate the desperate are. When your rates are down to .70 - .75 a mile and comm is 25 or 30% I want to hear what you say then.

You make an excellent point. That's why so many of us continue to game the system and figure out new and better ways to game the system. Sadly, that's why so many drivers start out with noble intentions but then figure out that cherry-picking is necessary in order to consistently maintain profitability. There are other tricks, too, but you know what I'm talking about.
