Uber manipulates drivers that on their cars by giving them promotions called quest which are very difficult to finish to get incentive money, also every time the driver is close to finishing the numbers that they request, the uber app stops or slows down to a point that it is so obvious they don’t want the driver to finish his rides to get the money. Meanwhile, uber guarantees long rides to the drivers that leased cars for them for $800 a month to ensure that they are getting their money and also the driver is happy to continue driving while screwing up and messing up with the livelihoods of the drivers that on their cars.

Giving a $50 bonus to someone taking 35 trips is peanuts. Plus, the idea that they slow or stop giving you rides makes no sense. They want you to take every ride you qualify for. The 50/35 quest only costs them about $1.42 per ride. With upfront pricing, its a win win for them.
