Agree. I provide access to USB ports. When i was new, i had water and mints. But people would leave trash on the floor, cupholders, etc., and i never noticed tips being any more generous or frequent.

Now, i just view that stuff as overhead.
I agree although if the right store is having the right sale (usually Walmart) I'll get the 8 oz bottled water

riders probably sensed a negative energy coming from you and tipped accordingly lol
It's interesting because I always try to project a happy, upbeat vibe, never complain because they don't want to hear it. Sometimes I am a little more surly after a couple of bad rides but the bottom line is I'm right around 11% for tips and I don't see much correlation between the days I do more or less than that.

Yes, that's what I tell people too, they are suppose to take only 25% of the fare you paid but sometimes they take a lot more in certain areas that still have upfront pricing. My area they quote a range like $8-11 for the trip, then when the trip is done they figure it all out and make sure it's only 25% that Uber takes
Where are you that they only take 25% they did away with that year ago .now it's miles and the. Figures out to be 40%to60% that Uber takes

Okay before I cause an uproar, just breathe and think about it. If you HAD to pick an amenity to have in your car, what would it be and why?

As much as we give a hard NO, dig deep, you know there are some benefits.

Imagine taking 100 uber rides and the next uber is stacked. Ropes hanging with chiclets glued across it, cans of coke zero iced in cooler, gum and candy corn overflowing from cup holders, cotton candy machine in the trunk. Don't you want to be that rider and wouldn't you tip?

Bay Area, so they give the passenger a range say $8-11. Once the ride is over they figure it out and make sure they only take 25%. It's part of their transparency and fight against ab5 to prevent us from being employees

This is what it looks like in the Uber rider app right now so I know it's still going here, they may roll it out nationwide eventually

And this is the last ride I've done, it was in March but I know they haven't changed it (other ride types are 28%, I've complained but they don't care)

It's part of their "we get it, we should be taking the set amount and not 40-60% on some rides"

No, I would not tip them any better, maybe even worse actually, than any other UberX.
And, the only thing I would want falsely entitled passengers, paying less than Taxi rates and expecting Limousine level service, to have for free from me would be cyanide caplets so they can improve society by self euthanasia. (tongue firmly in cheek here).

You paint 🎨 quite a picture.

Especially considering I only use black and white paint eh?

Hey, when I was driving (immunocompromiso) they got a clean, safe and friendly ride. Which was already more than they would have gotten from a taxi.
They also got picked up faster than any Taxi other than street hailed. They weren't lied to by a dispatcher saying "they will be there in 20 minutes" and an hour later still no one has accepted your laundry to home ride of less than 5 bucks and you didn't even tip.

And I never refused a pickup at any of the locations others do because I have had to do my grocery and laundry with nothing but public transit before so I know that struggle.

Only usb socket in rear seat, nothing else. Used to have water, they drink half and left in the car, had napkins, pax used and trash it in my car (you'll find used napkins everywhere hidden in you car). Same with candy wrappers, trash it everywhere. Better have nothing, lol
Lighting charger for iPhone, everybody using it , braking very fast. Only provide, if someone asks.

For good rating you don't need provide them water or something else. Just provide best service. Friendly, polite, good driving, best navigation.
if pax called me while I'm on they way to pick him up with question: where you are? Hurry up I'm late. Immediately cancel, you don't need him/her in you car. He/she already mad on you and if pax late it would be driver fall no matter what
