Was at a shopping center yesterday waiting in the parking lot for fares. I looked on the rider app and saw another vehicle parked in front of the shopping center, not in a parking lot but at the curb. I got out and checked it out and it was a taxi cab. Does Uber allow cabbies to work for them? Doesn't this take away from the whole "this isn't a paid service but ridesharing" argument? Don't they have an unfair advantage over other drivers? And also aren't they the ones creating the political pressure to have drivers banned from airports/cars confiscated etc. Should they ban professional taxis from being professional drivers? Or am I mistaken?
