Thanks for the thought poured into the avatar image. Nobody has commented on it yet let alone in such a philosophical way.I had a pax with boxed food who asked if he could eat it in the car, which i promptly declined. The toxic smell of whatever was in that box lingered for the 30 miles trip and way beyond. Got a ping right after I dropped him and guess what I get. A ding in my rating. So yes be careful of you see a pax coming towards your car with boxed food in their hands.
It took loads of fabreeze later to mask that curry smell.
Had one of those too. He got out of McDonald's and my car kept smelling like big Mac and fries. Super sizedThere is one chineese place on St. Charles Street in New Orleans, the customers get in with NO FOOD.
YET THEIR CLOTHES REEK OF FRIED FOOD.
When UberX first appeared in late 2013/early 2014, my cab passengers used to tell me about the nicer UberX cars that were nice and clean and did not smell. I told them to hold that thought and come back to me in three years about it. At times, a customer then would ask me why I would make such a statement. My reply usually was something such as: "Spend three years having twenty people getting in and out of your car every day in varying weather. These twenty people have varying hygenic habits. Some of them smoke and bring that odor into the car with them. Some of them have leaky bags of carryout of various smells and kinds. Drunks ralph in some of them.Big news for complaining passangers: it´s acctually the passangers who make your car dirty and smelly. It doesn´t matter if it´s a taxi, Uber, Lyft or what ever, driving many people around will damage your car in every possible way.
