Hi all,

A passenger on a recent trip dented the inside door panel as he went to put his big amplifiers into the backseat of my car.

I have told uber about this but they are saying they won't help as it's a normal wear and tear! The dent is pretty obvious and rider was careless and slammed into the panel and I don't agree it being a normal wear and tear. Maybe if it was a scratch I wouldn't care at all..

Not sure what else I can do, since uber is not providing any support at all!! Shows what a unsupportive company they are.

I'm not sure if I can post photos up at this stage, but I will as soon as I know what's happening.

TIA

If it's done as a careless act it's not wear and tear. He rushed it. I usually get out and help but as soon as I pulled over he opened the door and starting putting these in.

And in the past I have rejected similar situations but they ***** about it to uber and they send me a message saying " we have a received a concerning msg from a rider you refused to take".

Grow some balls and next time say no passenger if you are not comfortable with something. Your best bet is to go to your insurance (if you hv any ride share insurance.

At same time, keep on sending emails to Uber about claim and damage. May be you get something from Uber

The rule with dealing with Uber is be persistent. And if that doesn't work, be persistent. Uber's modus operandi is to blanket refuse claims with any excuse they can come up with - the goal is to make drivers give up and go away. It's happened to many, including me, before. Just keep writing back, firmly but professionally, informing that whatever they are saying is not acceptable. And that the only solution acceptable to you is compensation in full for the damage their passenger caused to your vehicle. Keep plugging away and don't take no for an answer. It works for me.

I never let those dj dudes in my car, heavy equipment, minimum, shortest dickstination.

Just drive past, and sometimes collect easy $8, as they can afford it for making me drive my effort.
I refused few time to carry stuff in my back seat. The only thing I'm happy to put there is suitcase -:)

When I cancel this job I select "too many riders" lol

I am more worried you worked 10 weeks without a day off.

Can't be good for your health. Driving is inherently dangerous and you need to know when to stop.

No point chasing the $$$ if you end up crashing into a tree killing yourself or a passenger because you are working 100+ hours a week.

Sadly UBER does not cap how many hours you can drive a week, and there are tools like that one in WA who drove 24 hours straight.

Dumb, dangerous and unhealthy. I hope for your sake, your situation improves and you are not forced into this slavery.

Next time you see a lot of clunky baggage drive off. Cancel.

Tell them if they can't compensate, you will contact an attorney to get the passengers info from them that way you can sue him for damages to your car.

See how quickly they try to buy you off with some money.

giveaway; they start talking which they avoid to do

you will definitely know

need to keep all out until convinced good to go

you see; when the game becomes 'life and times of the gypsy driver'

quicker this will come, thanks to jacinda and friends

NEED to 'hustle' the streets for fares, road warrior for sure

THEN see; wonderful society in all glory

especially when it's ride for cheap

if ne'er been yellow, you will appreciate not how wonderful it to be

the heart paces; what pleasure of fare next up:oops::(

Yep. I once had a guy wanting to move a few full boxes (to a street around the corner). Told him to get a removalist and drove off.

I take passangers only. Any luggage (bags suitcases) must go into the boot. If i see any other courier type crap i simply cancel the trip and drive off.
What the hell are they thinking?...
