I went to the airport staging area and waiting to get my queue number....no lie, 20 straight requests to this outside concert venue that holds about 23,000, roughly 14 minutes away. Every ride request was not one penny extra. They happened so fast and furious, took 8 minutes to get a queue number...lol

The area is impossible to pick up at (in fact it would be easier to be offline and those people will pay whatever cash you demand for a ride) I did that concert area one time in 2016 and was primetimed 500%. You roll up and hundreds of people just grabbing you're door handles and screaming into the car offering cash to cancel rider and take them.

Uber surged about 17 dollars for a good half hour and not one cent on Evil Lyft.

I'm almost ready to delete Lyft app!!!! They suck and 50 times more greedy than Uber.

I honestly don't get Lyfts strategic plans with getting rid of primetime for slot machines....give up hundreds of people in demand to get suckers to take a few high upfront fares from Noobs.

Bottom two pic's are right now 1:55am bar crowds not even fully out yet.....NOT a penny on Gryft. Who's is actually picking people up? The lease suckers.
my last 5 rides with lyft

I started to learn that I relied on Lyft when Uber is slow or glitchy. I have cancelled on rides for Uber rides. The rates are weird and sucks. I think the worse is the direct pay feature, you need to make $5 in order to cash out. So if I get a tip or a ride that is less than $6(because the $5 doesn't include the fee for using it.) Uber on the other hand I can cash out anything more than $1
You know it's bad when a $5 minimum for cash out is seen as a problem.

But is this behavior truly evil or just evidence of a really dumb algorithm?

Yes lyft is the worse. When they moved their way here to my town they had surge but still lower milage and minute pay then a year later they take the surge away drop cancelation fee down, they never had long distance pickup fee. Now it's slow so I drive a little for lyft, only short pickups, and I'm doing there promotion right now 15 rides for hundred dollars in 3 days, already received the 100 for a weekday promotion they had but there's a catch. If you don't make a $100 in 15 trips they make up the difference if you only make $50 they give you $50 so your not getting$150. And know they got that millions of dollar contract from the government so unfortunately lyft will be around awhile
