I've been there. And it is frustrating as #@#!. But once that timer runs out... bye! Cancel & drive off.

It took me a while to get that all through my head also because I'm inherently too nice. I can totally see myself in your shoes. But lesson learned - sometimes you gotta learn 'em the hard way. o_O Sorry fellow Uberer.

Good for you! Lol. I have thrown people out before. Sometimes its worth the 1 star. My rating is somewhat low becasue I won't take shit from people who treat us like Uber Shit. I would have left him off at the end of the runway though. I had to let a beliegernt drunk fat couple off on the side of the road, they would not get out. Police had to come and throw them out. They called Uber, told them a real bad man was rude to them, I should be fired. Sent the video to Uber, which is another story. Uber actaully complimented me on how I handled it.

Waited in MIA Intl queue for 25 min., get Lyft PING. Drive to pin drop, no rider seems interested. I call PAXhole 3X, no answer. Circle back (5Min) to his pin, call again; he picks up. I find him after 10 minutes. He gets in, I explain that I drove 10 minutes around trying to find/call him. His reply; "I was on a conference call... what can I do?" I explained his ride was 2 miles and I'd already driven further than that looping the terminals. He offered no apology...

So, I pulled into an enterprise lot, ended the ride, he got out, cursed me, slammed my door and I drove off. I gave him 1 star too.

He cost me 1 hr. He got dumped for being a self entitled millennial jerk. If he'd have said; "I'm so sorry, I see I missed several of your calls. Here's 10$. No problem.

I have lost most patience with these skuzzyjerks.
Just cancel after you made the first call. I wouldn't play games at the airport. Too risky
