I accumulated a 4.99 rating recently and today I picked up my last rider who was rated a low 4.73. She gets into the vehicle confirms her name and destination, I drive to the drop off location with no hick ups, she tells me to have a good evening, I return the pleasantries, she leaves and one minute later I notice I've been given a 1 star and dropped to 4.98. I did nothing wrong at all. I took a chance in picking up a low rated rider today and this is how I'm rewarded wtf. Screw these backstabbers. Cherry pick and never give any rider 5 star rating. Every rider is a potential two faced, negative rat ass.

Let me ask you a question, what difference did it make? This is your pride and only your pride speaking. It has no effect on your earnings and for all you know she accidentally hit one star instead of 5 (on some screens the 5th star wraps around to the next line). Just drive and don't worry about ratings, you'll be less stressed out.

dont sweat a bad rating, its when they accuse of things and u tell uber hmm i have my dashcam so lets really see what happened.

There is no assurance that rider actually gave you the low rating. It might have been another and Uber usually causes a delay anyway.
Your ratings are always going to fluctuate a little bit, a few tens of a point don't mean diddly squat.
Just keep up the good work and strive towards 5.0, but don't let it get you upset.
If you start dropping close to 4.90 then you need to check yourself.
Remember your rating is an average of the last 500 trips, so go on a nice binge and get 500 pax to rate you 5.0 and your back into the sweet zone.

Drivers and pax that are 4.9 or better are good. Don't sweat the basis point changes. Nobody else cares that much, why should you?
It's the sub 4.6 that you need to worry about. Those are the ones who have more than likely demonstrated repeated bestial behavior. Exceptions do not disprove the rule, either.

Keep rating cash tipping pax 5 starz.
Also, keep in mind some pax accidentally rate low because Uber has crappy developers and sometimes the 5 star rating gets cut off. I've witnessed it myself when I looked at a pax screen and they went to rate me high but their only options without scrolling were 1 star and 2 star, so I got 2 stars.

Ratings are literally just a void Uber hopes both riders and drivers will scream into instead of directing that ire towards Rohit. A very basic part of the smoke and mirrors Uber coasts on as they skirt the law on behalf of amateur Taxi drivers operating in the legal grey. You are being handled, dear ant. It’s psychological. And it seems to be working. And does it put food on the table? Sometimes I attempt to nerf mine a bit, for amusement purposes or vengeance.
And riders are always subjected to my playlist, unlessen they have the guts to ask for the aux cord in which case I say hit me/surprise me/this better be good. Which usually gets me a tip.

Note to self, never pick up any rider below 4.83 stars and also to thank each rider with a 4 star rating going forwards (any suspicious rider behaviour gets a 1 star). Don't trust any of the riders, even the nice one's, it's all an act to ensure self-preservation on the Uber app so they get another ride. Instead of drivers being judged on driving, riders are actively looking to ding us for minuscule reasons such as temperature of the vehicle etc.
I have had completely wonderful pax with absolutely terrible ratings because they had young kids once or a dog.
Then I've had 5.0 newbies that were quite horrible.

No music is awkward as hell I couldn't stand silence riding around 30 minutes with a newbie driver that didn't have much trips and a mid 4 rating.
At least have something playing low. Don't think I've ever had a rider ask to turn off music in 6,000 trips unless they're on a phone call, talking to each other or something similar.
Just a basic low level unless they ask to turn it up. Some drivers have had way too loud, couldn't communicate at all or hear emergency sirens when needed.
"Last ride" could of been drunk or under some influence, which I've constantly gotten 1 stars from late night trips.
Uber's rating protection BS doesn't care if they were too drunk to properly rate. Some have even told me they've mistakenly done 1s when they've been drunk etc. Just takes a couple pushes to mess it up.
I'm stuck at 4.90 because of 8 x 1 stars which might of been slightly worse before some latest rides finally bumped them away. Was around 4.95 to 4.97 for a while. Less motivation to drive the drunks around... besides the 1 in each 1,000 rides that can't hold their alcohol down.

My best money made was the event crowd long ago at 4.83 max rating. Now 4.98. When we got 4.9x alot. Passengers down rated us. But I got 80 % and xl 70%
