I couldn't believe it until I saw it: actual real time traffic pumping through a gps with quick options to skip out on the cluster****. Amazing. I keep giving it different voice recognition names. Anyone else got ideas? I'll try them out if they're good:
-Denzel Washington
-Penelope Cruz
-Excelsior
-Skynet System

It seems like it wants a four syllable phrase, and it's so good at picking up on it and queuing up.

Let's push the magical mystery tour of a thread that was up here right off the front page for a bit because, well, it's embarrassing.
I'm going out to get the Garmin 3597, there's various reviews on Amazon on this top-of-the-line,
High price item...
But apparently the traffic feature can also talk to your smart phone through the data plan and therefore provide a more up-to-date traffic experience getting you around bullshit like here in Boston.
Saving me that type of heart ache, as well as being voice activated is a big plus so I'm going to drop a lot of money.
I will let you all know how it goes.

I just got my Nuvi 2797. All features same as 3597 (less the HD traffic which is not needed for me. The satellite traffic is same just less data points and doesn't refresh quite as fast..but both are very fast). I chose the 2797 over the 3597 for the 7" screen. I don't need to sync with smartphone to have the traffic. It uses the provided receiver which is built into the power cord. the stand alone gps is good for me because I do not have, nor do I plan to get, a smart phone. I did a lot of research on all the Garmin models. narrowed it down pretty quickly. Traffic with auto or manual alternate routes around it, is the priceless feature. The Real Voice technology is fantastic (I hate that robot voice on Uber phone). I'm loving all the themed voices to choose from. The icons for vehicle (I chose the jet lol), halloween, Christmas, winter sleds, etc. etc. It has been fun getting to know this tool. I've only just now started using it today. I will be getting bluetooth headphone so only I will hear the voice. I'm loving this tool.
