I think that's one of the misused quotes of all time. You actually can do the same thing over and over again and expect different results. Sometimes doing the same thing is ebest when in a changing environment. Though it is over generalized to the world the quote is more suited for scientific experiments in a controlled environment. As most of us are familiar with Einsteins saying, "Doing the same thing multiple times expecting different result is the definition of insanity".
You stated that you've been driving UBER in the Niagara region for many months and it yields revenues of $375 a week with 40 hour shifts before expenses. After expenses, it amounts to $5-$7 or even a negative sum according to your calculations.
I, and I'm sure any person in a sane state of mind would immediately stop exerting their efforts to what seems to yield a negative net income and find other means to facilitate positive cash flow and increase their means of living.
Right now, you have one option: TAKE ACTION
1) If you want to continue driving UBER, move to a metropolitan city with an established client base if that's a viable option. I've been able to consistently make $22-$30/hr and in the past generate gross weekly pay up to $900-$1200 for 40-50 hours of work. You will start off with $16/hr and will learn you way to manipulate the system to get you higher earnings.
OR
2) STOP driving Uber. Take a week off from the world and FIGURE OUT, what you want to do with your life. If you're claiming net income of $5 and below, ANY JOB will pay you much more with benefits. If you have some academic background or work interests, apply in that field. There are many jobs that pay $12+/hr without any experience required.
While working, look for avenues to increase your income by adding to your education or pursuing a venture. Recently, apart from my job, I dedicate just 15 hours to driving and spend the rest of my time focusing my pursuits on my entrepreneurial passions. I have A PLAN for every aspect of life and know exactly what to do to get there.
Spending time (that takes away from your income) to increase your knowledge and to use the brain to form a life process that'll help you become SUCCESSFUL BY DESIGN is more profitable than anytime and 'money made' driving uber in Niagara or Toronto... it's priceless.
I would wish you good luck, but I don't wish good luck where hard work is required, so work hard.
I was actually debating using the quote but I figured it suited the context just to get the point across. I agree with your statements; it is over-generalized and multiple attempts and somtimes in different conditions (whether environmental or otherwise) can yield different results in a non-scientific un-controlled setting.I think that's one of the misused quotes of all time. Hey I made almost 90.00 in 3.5 hours in Niagara Saturday night.. All Midget rides and I even had a ping from the Falls to the USA side. I drove them to Rainbow and told them to walkLook, it's a side gig, but when you have to work 40 hours to make it a side gig it's frustrating. When I hear about all.these Toronto drivers making $1500 working part time I get jealous.
