After avoiding several Walmart “opportunities” - the kind with several drop-offs, I gave one a try on a slow day last week. It wasn’t bad. $30 to drop off 9 smallish items in an area I was planning on hanging out in anyway. I thought, not bad at all, what’s all the fuss?
TODAY…. Ugh. Took a Walmart “Package” ping. $8.67 for “1 ITEM.” Cool. I was heading in the delivery direction anyway, so I gave it a go.
IT WAS A TRICK, FRIENDS. This time I was to park in the Pickup section (if you’ve ever done a Walmart grocery pickup as a customer, same drill - park, wait for associate to bring it to you). I was just about ready to Cancel after waiting several minutes, when Johnny comes out with two towers of blue bins heading my way. Surely the “1 ITEM” is in ONE of those bins, right?
THE BINS WERE THE ORDER. 10 blue bins of someone’s groceries. HARD PASS JOHNNY, I’m so sorry dude.
“Oversized Item,” and I’m off.
1 hour later the same package ping is still popping up. Wake up Uber. This is not working 😣
I share this anecdote for anyone wondering what the “package” thing is all about, and the difference beteeen that and an “opportunity.”
