Cancel Uber Pro debit card ; contact agent

I got a call from Uber Support in the middle of a ride, and he talked me into signing up for the Uber Pro card. I didn't know anything about it, but I went along, so I could get back to driving. Now I'm the proud owner of a debit card, with an unrequested debt of $150.

My gas is already $.20 to $.30 less than the high rates in my area. And I have no need or interest in any of the other perks of the card. I knew it wouldn't be easy to get disentangled from this financial octopus. But, surely there is a way.

I clicked HELP in the Uber app, but the computer chat was no help at all. In the past I was able to contact a human agent. But now I can't find a way to chat or phone with a human mind. As a last resort, I'll try to get some help from the Card app. But a quick review shows no path to cancellation.

Does anyone know how to get in touch with a knowledgeable person at UBER?

100% scam. Change your passwords now.to uber.com.
I used to have the Uber gas car. What a headache. I would owe like $400. I had to put cash away to pay myself for the 2 weeks it took to take the cash out of my pay.
No real saving. Don't let Uber own you. Renting you is OK. Delete all this crap. And change your passwords.

Why are you taking a phone call in the middle of a ride? If it was in the middle of a pickup, or accepted a 2nd ride that didn't happen during a trip sounds like yet another scam victim. There shouldn't be a debt on a uber card, unless you choose to take a backup balance in emergencies which fares repay the debt until you can actually make money above the borrowed amount.
If you plugged in a number to the app that moneys disappearing to someone elses card.

The call from Uber support was informing me that my current pickup was for a passenger in a wheelchair. Since my car can't accommodate non-folding wheelchairs, support said I could cancel without it going on my record, plus I'd get a $6.50 fee. So far so good.

Then, he proceeded to sign me up for an Uber Pro card. I suspected a scam, but he already knew most of my personal & financial data. Long story short, I'm now signed up for the card, and got a chance to see what I was getting : a debit card. Since I already qualify for Uber Pro perks, and have a debit card from my bank, the Uber card is of no use to me. I asked if the automatic $140 credit that came with the card was a loan, and he said no. But that's what it looks like to me.

I thought I could just contact UBER and cancel the card. But it's not that easy. This thread is asking for a way to contact a human agent at Uber Support. I've done it in the past, but now only get AI agents, that are of no help for my problem. Does anybody know how to contact a human at Uber?

You use the email or text system in the Uber Pro Card app to contact Branch Bank and they kick you off the UPC and Uber restores the original payment process. That's how I did it

The UBER computer agents and Debit Card human agents mentioned "Branch" several times, but I had no idea what they were talking about, and the contact numbers they gave were fruitless. Uber HELP in the app was no help at all. Unfortunately, Uber will not allow drivers to contact a human. So the Help computer agent is the only to "try" way to get Uber to fix its overzealous salesman mistake. Hence the frustration that prompted this thread.

After four days of going in circles with human & computer agent FAQs, I finally got a knowledgeable human on the MasterCard Debit Card phone contact. He told me how to transfer my last payday from the card to my bank, and how to stop UBER from sending my money to the card. I offered to give him a tip, but not possible. Now I'm back to normal, . . . . sigh!

When the plastic card arrives in the mail, I will immediately cut it into bits. :(

100000% scam. Uber don't call about a wheelchair. Or anything else. Even a pet will come with a text. You have a pet.as told before get a regular checking account. Get rid of all the pro card crap. If they have your original checking account info. Change than account in payouts. Change all your passwords.
Next time . Tell uber to hold on. And leave it like that till they disconnect

Turns out that the Uber Pro Debit Card call was legitimate, although questionable. I guess the pax contacted Uber about the wheelchair, instead of the driver. Then the Uber agent used that opportunity to sign me up for a debit card. I had gotten texts about the card, but had no intention of getting it, since I already have a Debit Card from my bank.

After four days of trying to get a human on the line, I finally succeeded in stopping UBER from depositing my earnings into the debit card instead of my bank. My last payday is now in the bank, plus $150 "sign-up bonus" (my name for it) that I don't understand.
