... you could have told her to give you $35 cash and you both would have been better off. I understand that's risky due to insurance reasons, but don't forget your own insurance would have covered you in the event of an accident.
I wouldn't bet on that! If they figure out that the passenger was paying you cash for the ride, they can deny the claim.

My first thought was I need to cancel this ride it's too far away and the roads are terrible and the storm is worse up here and I can hardly see but then I get this message from this girl saying "please don't cancel on me three drivers just did and I need to get to work I have a daughter to take care of" so this breaks my heart and I go ahead and start my way towards her. It takes me 30 minutes to get there driving 25 miles an hour and I finally slide up to her door she gets in and within a few minutes she tells me that she's getting charged $61 for a $13 ride and I felt terrible for this single mom going to work at Walmart in the middle of the night. So, we finally arrive and I drop her off and I go to find out that scumbag Lyft paid me $11 and for some reason these dirtbags at lyft think that they deserve $50 for this hell ride I just went through.
First, you should have taken the hint when she told you that 3 drivers cancelled on her. Did you think that was a coincidence? Second, never take ANY ride in a snowstorm that pays you $11. It doesn't matter if the rider paid $5, or $500 for that trip.

Uber doesn’t market but they expect you to run all hours of the day for them.

Keep on defending Dara and he will keep on screwing us as usual!

Uber need full-time drivers and uses us as full-time drivers because the demand is high, so yes we are full-time even if Uber tries to deny reality!
You just need to figure out what I figured out a long time ago this is not a full-time job go do something else...

I don't know how much longer Lyft can get away with raping the passenger and the driver at the same time, I think people are getting wise to it. In the meantime do what we can, keep putting up their disgraceful offers on social media and try to get them some seriously negative publicity. And fking Lyft app off, 90% of my rides are Uber now.
Quit lyft 4 years ago , uber is on its way out too , the writing is on the wall

I would have felt the same. When she told you the ride was going to cost her $60 plus dollars, you could have told her to give you $35 cash and you both would have been better off. I understand that's risky due to insurance reasons, but don't forget your own insurance would have covered you in the event of an accident.
If there were injuries on her side, it be sticky, however. Although she simply would have had to keep her mouth shut and there would be no issues.
Never count on anyone keeping their mouth shut and you won't have a problem. Typical auto insurance will bit cover you doing a cash ride and her attorney will quickly get to the bottom of it.

Where in a snowstorm by O'Hare airport so I get a ride going 35 miles north for a lousy $28 and we're driving about 45 miles an hour because you can hardly see and the roads are so icy and right before I drop these people off the system adds another call to my queue so I drop these people off and I start heading towards this next call that's 20 minutes away I just realized.

So my question is to all us drivers, ARE WE LOSERS OR WHAT!!!??? Are we going to just sit here and make all of these sacrifices just so we can pay for the Mercedes car payments of these scumbag Lyft and Uber executives and their shareholders when we're doing all the work and beating up our vehicles? Yes it's not just Lyft it's also Uber.

Now some of you rideshare maybe undercover employees for them or just Yes Daddy people are going to say something stupid in their defense but how about the real drivers out here are we going to just sit here and complain about it or are we going to do something about it? I've been with these two companies for 8 years and I shouldn't have to quit because of some scumbag greedy executives who want to overcharge the passenger and then rip us off!

Therefore, there goes all our tips and probably a lower star rating and I don't blame them I would probably do the same thing if I'm getting raped when I'm just trying to go to work so I can take care of my daughter.

Don't forget people when this all started we were getting 80% and they were getting 20% and now they're getting 75% and we're getting 25% and we're doing all the work!

So, now I have to drive 40 miles at 3am by myself just to get home and at the end of the day threes hours later I make about $30 after gas and Lyft makes over a hundred bucks and all they did was forward a call to me.

ARE WE LOSERS OR WHAT!?
ARE LOSERS since people keep doing this for nuts instead of real money.

You’re not a loser, you just have a bunch of people in here talking smack because that’s all they’re good at. It’s good that you have a heart and a conscience. Unfortunately Lyft doesn’t that’s something you have to remember. right now their money raking because they know they’re going out of business. where I live right here Los Angeles there’s time is it 4 o’clock in the morning from Disneyland LAX Lyft is charging 250 260 bucks and the drivers only get like 46 $47 as it is drivers learn to stop using Lyft and switch over to Uber. Even though they’re not much better they still do pay better.
Well thank you for the intelligent mature response and if I have some girl begging me not to cancel on her I'm going to be a gentleman and go get her and the ones that wouldn't are the ones that make this world a crappy place to live in and what do you mean lyft is going out of business?

Lol I already tried that before and I almost got fired. They deactivated me right away and I had to go through a bunch of crap just to get them to give me another chance some nurse ratted on me.

Uber did market this as a full-time gig by making false claims that full-time drivers were making $90,000/year. They made commercials featuring drivers renting cars that could only be afforded by those working a minimum of 40 hours per week. If you consider giving away 40 hours of your time a side hustle, then that is your failure.
It's no different than leasing your own taxi cab I mean I know Lyft drivers that are making 100K a year and they live in $400,000 houses so what's the big difference from the 9 to 5 guy?

Yes. We are losers. And there is nothing we can do about those rideshare companies are doing. Maybe best bet is just EVERYONE to leave from both of those platforms .
WHEN THERE IS NOBODY TO BULLY AROUND THEN BULLIES CANT DO NOTHING.
