A little more info:

............... When I look at how much I've been paid compared to the value of what I've delivered, it's obvious that the current model can't remain in place for the long term...................
I know its very difficult to compare like this but UPS drivers get $18-33/hrs plus union benefits and driver do not have to pay for gas, insurance, maintenance and above all depreciation of the vehicle if they can afford $18-33/hrs driver than how can't Amazon??

The difference is in the volume. I am making an average of 1.3 deliveries per paid hour. (Yes, I track this) That means it is costing Amazon $13.85 for each stop I've made so far. With only a $20 minimum per order and no additional shipping fee (unless they pay $7.99 for one-hour delivery), something has to change. They'll have to figure something out to organize the drivers with more stops per route or reduce their payouts to the drivers.
Agreed! I think that is one of the reason they almost stopped "Scheduling Assignments" on weekly basis (atleast in Atlanta) so that if there are no deliveries they do not have to pay the drivers "in waiting" at the fulfillment center

I dont know about other cities but looks like I have to look for another option, I stared at my phone almost for 4 hours and no delivery blocks showed up. No scheduled assignments as well. Can you share your experience "How and at what time to get the blocks" ??

By the way - I had a customer order a dolly full of stuff. (total weight was 75lbs.) Which would of been $46.84 with UPS. Fastest service would of been $204.21

This guy had me laughing. He opened his door and said "Hey you do have a dolly". The last driver did not have a dolly. (Customer lived on 4th floor, with elevator) He told me he ordered a few waters and the driver was pissed off, because he had to carry each one.

So, again, make sure you go buy a cheap dolly. You can find one on Amazon ;)
Harbor Freight have folding dolly http://www.harborfreight.com/150-lb-capacity-foldable-hand-truck-61867.html for $29 minus 20% coupon comes to $23 ( "10935980" coupon code valid for 3 days i.e Dec 14-16).
If you are cheap like me get this dolly http://www.harborfreight.com/19-12-in-x-14-12-in-200-lb-capacity-polypropylene-dolly-61164.html for $8.00) and dolly handle for http://www.harborfreight.com/swivel-handle-for-wooden-dolly-94354.html for $6.40) after 20% off coupon and attach them together with a piece of wood at the bottom costs you total $14.50.

Hi everyone!

I signed up using the amazon flex sign up page but havent heard from them yet its been more than a week, can anybody tell me how long it took you to receive response feom them to go forward with background check and stuff?
Welcome! few people have reported that they are still waiting since 2 weeks plus, someone here in this forum received an email from them mentioning about delay of BC from Amazon as well. So don't lose hope its coming! Good Luck!

Pretty much same here. I made my availability in the app for 60 hours, including 8am to midnight for both sat and sun and got ZERO hours this week. Last week was my first week to register and all I got was sat, 4pm to midnight. So basically, in two weeks time, being available for most of their operating hours for the entire week and ALL weekend, I only got 8 hours.

So either they have WAY too many drivers, or its slow, or some combination of the two. Regardless, if it's this bad during the holidays, it doesn't bode well going forward. My two cents.
If this Bull**** scheduling stays like that this project will be soon part of the "past". I did not understand if they want to keep the contract couriers why they offered to other people through Flex program. I am not against of any courier company but advertising like crazy and no hours for several weeks is just frustrating for everyone. IMHO
Edit: I would suggest who ever is reading here should send their suggestions, comments and concerns to the CEO of Amazon, just google "CEO of Amazon email".

Does anyone have any contact info besides the email on the website? I am trying to work in New York. I know they already started but I never was contacted, and every time I contact via email I get a generic message that isn't helpful at all.almost as if a robot is talking to me. I posted this more than once hopefully you guys dont think I am a robot lol I just want some answers. Thanks
There is nothing you can do besides waiting, there is a phone number somewhere in this forum but it will not gonna help nor sending any emails gonna help either!
Update: You can try registering by a different email address if you have not received the "On-boarding Session" invitation.

Guys I have just received email from them .
I'm planning to buy an android phone for amazon flex, but before that I want to know if they require SSN !
I'm an international student and don't have SSN
Amazon requires you to provide SSN for background check. So its better NOT to spend money on phone until you are approved by Amazon.

My first blocks with Flex don't come up until next week, but I decided to locate the Amazon warehouse today so I know where it is.

The address, 4221 Way Out West Drive doesn't hit on my Garmin, and in my Google maps it's shown as at the corner of WOW and 43rd. It's actually in the middle of the block, between 43rd and Hempstead, on the west wide of the road. The Amazon office is at the south side of the building, suite 200.
So did you say "Whats up!" to the warehouse and left?

Hey everyone
My first shift is wed 4 to 12...I noticed that there isn't any "ready to deliver" button to click in order to try and get some hours...do you think because it is my first time they are only giving me that shift....?
"ready to deliver" button shows up when they require drivers, it stays may be for second or until some one else picks up that slot. Try mid night hunt more chances to get the block at midnight! IMHO

I don't really want to be too specific. I've already been burned once by Uber spies on this forum. I doubt Amazon cares, but one can't be too careful.

Besides, it's a busy in H-Town this week and I could probably make more Ubering on that particular day.

If they only assigned me 4 hours I would have kept it, but with being an old fart with diabetes, I think 8 hours straight of hopping in and out of the car is a bit too much for a first time out.
They are offering chance to win a date with Taylor Swift, you have to complete a 8 hr shift to qualify! Still gonna hurt your knees? lol

What if you are a white guy in an all black neighborhood driving a nice car carrying around important looking packages. in a state where lots of people own guns illagal or not.
What if, what if?
What if you are brown guy in an all black/White/Hispanic/Oriental neighborhood driving a Rickshaw carrying around Computer/IT equipment. In a state where lots of people own computers illagal or not.
What if, what if? LOL!

im having alot of problems scanning the packages, i have a galaxy s7...is there any tricks or way to scan the packages...today it took me like 10-15 minutes. there was also a customer waiting for his packages and he had to wait foe me from 3-5 minutes :( until i scanned all 3 bags...
Did you try cleaning up the camera lens? Keep the phone 12"-14" away from bag to scan and use built-in flash light option if the light is low or in dark and the tag on the bag should be free from wrinkles while scanning at 90 degrees.
