Hey drivers! What is up with so many of you wasting hours of your day sitting in an airport queue? If you don't receive a ride after dropping off a rider at the airport, leave the airport. You're wasting precious hours in a day and not making money.

On the contrary.

Making money is not the same as earning more profit.

For example I did 12 straight hours of back to back Uber X trips and earned $75 which half went to gas. Factor in vehicle costs etc. and I actually lost money that day, but it was an experiment.

The next day only did XL/XXL trips at the airport, did 5 over 12 hours, spent the same in gas and earned $150+.

So made TWICE the pay for the same gas and wear and tear on my vehicle.

Uber pays below sustainable compensation however it's worse if the deadheading is high, like 40-50% which cuts Ubers meger pay in half.

So yes there are times waiting at the airport in the que is a very sound strategy. One might get a trip going back towards their home to finish up the day being paid in BOTH directions.

It's called cherry picking and there is even software that will only select trips going to your preferred destination areas and only accept certain pay per mile rates etc

You do it Ubers way it's a guaranteed trip to bankruptcy because they are NOT paying for deadhead miles, like between trips and going home.

And although there are almost 95 cars in the que and 32 planes arriving soon, doesn't mean all the drivers are going to choose every trip that comes in and do it, many of them are cherry picking themselves.

Experienced drivers let the ignorant newbies run around losing money because they can't do math unaware of their costs of operation.

However if you figure:

.20 per odometer mile for fuel.

.10 per odometer mile for other business expenses

.50 per odometer mile for vehicle replacement and emergency fund

.50 for labor.

You should be good after that.

Earn 130% more than the odometer miles you put on your vehicle daily and your doing well.
