Anybody got one of these from Uber? Curious if it is a new program.

I generally don't speed. Generally. Always never more than 5 over with riders. There are times I've pushed it to make a pickup. And I may have pushed it more than usual this past week.

[EDIT] "pushing it" for me is 10-20 over.

But that is why I was asking. To see how long this has been on the books. That would provide a clue as to the nitpick factor.

You're right, but I sure hope the threshold isn't 10 over. Cops usually give you that. Usually.

I will say too that back in 2016 when I signed up you would get a weekly report on your driving that included praise for things like -drum roll- smooth braking. It of course was Uber going all control freakish on drivers, and they knocked that off at some point.

I get these regularly, have been for more than 1/2 a year. I typically go 5 to 7 over but have been known to haul ass late night when I'm not in traffic, it's a restricted road and I'm returning back on the same road I went on. I also think there's something to the on-off ramps not being coded correctly. Whatever the case, I don't think they will do anything until someone actually complains about your driving and I'm pretty sedate when loaded. What I find remarkable is how they are giving attorneys ammunition for a law suit. If I get into an accident now, couldn't an attorney say, "you sent 8 warnings to this driver, you knew they were speeding, and yet you did nothing to them but let them keep putting your customers at risk."

Everything old is new again! Up until 2017 with the older version apps you were graded on speed, braking and acceleration. You used to be able to look at your score as a pass fail so as far back as that they were monitoring your speed braking and acceleration. Around late 2017 or 2018 that disappeared from the newer versions of the apps. They never stopped monitoring it however. So even though it isn’t on your dashboard to see your grade, It’s still there in the background. Congratulations you got their attention LOL

Hopefully you HAVENT been doing any hard braking and/or "traffic maneuvers" on any recent trip.

Examples of this, as you know, may include swerving or sharp turns or anything/nothing at all a paxhole wants to whine about.

As explained in our Community Guidelines (which you have of course memorized) serious or repeated or even bogus/flaudent claims of so-called poor, unsafe, or distracted driving can result in loss of access to the Driver app (AKA, DEACTIVATION) and a free ride for the scamming paxhole.

We appreciate your understanding.

Thanks again,

Rohit

I get one about every 3rd trip to the airport. 65 MPH on the highway and at the same place the app switches to the side road of 30 MPH for about 10 seconds. Later that day I get the notification. If I'm going under 60 MPH when I hit that area it seems like I don't get the notice.

Two airport trips yesterday, at 9:27 AM this morning I got the "Have you been speeding?" notice. Both riders gave me nice tips and no down rating in the app so I doubt the notice was generated from the PAX.

I got similar notices twice for AVOIDING HITTING cars already stopped on the freeway. Both times with a passenger in the car. Both times driving into a curve and NOT speeding. On one of those, I opted for braking combined with a sudden lane change to the off ramp to avoid being rear ended and joining the party. The other time I was going up a curving interchange ramp when the motorcycle right in front of me went down; I did not hit him because I braked hard. Rohit told me to drive more carefully next time. <eye roll> I'm pretty certain that Rohit has never
driven any kind of vehicle.
