This is at least the 3rd one. Another message came in from Uber about Advantage/Standard starting on the 23rd. This one, just like all the others, makes no mention of an AR requirement.
Interesting. I got that same warning but my cancellation rate is 48%.They notified me that I would be considered a standard driver, even though I meet the requirements that they have listed.
What's your market?Last summer, they tested the 5,10,15% in extra earning and it didn’t make a single difference in my overall weekly earning. I canceled 99% of the time. Now it is being relabeled as Standard and Advantage mode and I will still cancel a boat load of lowball offering. Just do what you always do best and the tips will make up more than the lost in 5% Advantage mode.
I’m in Michigan with an AR of 86% and I’m in advantage mode. However, I have hardly driven since advantage mode came to my market just by coincidence. It came to my market a couple months ago and I happened to only drive for a few days when it arrived as I had made the decision to only drive from time to time. While in advantage mode, I did see some horrible offers. One example was a $12 trip to the airport that used to pay $30 pretty consistently. Not sure if there is any connection or perhaps the pax just had a discount from Uber that they took from whomever drove them, but I saw offers all the time for airport trips prior to advantage mode and none of them paid less than $25. Hope this helps. It would be helpful to know if anyone here has been notified that they will be Advantage and what acceptance rate do they have.
It used to be in Chicago that rock bottom rates in the morning to O'Hare would fall around $15. Then it became $13. Then $12. I have recently seen depending on where at in the city you're located, especially if you're in the Northwest Side such as by Albany Park, I've seen rates as low as around $8 to the airport, which is absolutely pathetic. There's no way that is justified for a high mileage ride that will take at least 20 minutes to complete and probably at least half an hour to an hour before another ride request comes in, because we are dealing with sometimes in excess of 100 drivers in the queue. That or you will have to drive 10+ miles before you have a realistic shot of getting pings again. I generally have not accepted airport runs for under $30 unless I was already going up that way, and I have even turned down $45+ to the airport. I think $50-60 is where I start to genuinely consider going up there.I’m in Michigan with an AR of 86% and I’m in advantage mode. Maybe it varies by region. I am over 10% but under 20% in acceptance. I could bring that up pretty easily because some of the rides are decent, it's just that it doesn't fit into my overall plans. I could make more time to take a wider range of rides but I also like to stay close to home because I know the streets better. I know all the one-way streets, I know where the shortcuts are, where there's construction, I even know the timing of the lights, where the redlight and speed cameras are located, and I know where the potholes are. I can also drive them without thinking about it. Once I start venturing out too far, I don't know my way around nearly as well. I feel like that's one area where we bring the most value, by specializing in a particular area and learning that area well. I don't have to stick to such a limited area and will go out if I know I can make some decent money doing so, but I feel most comfortable within a few miles of home. Some areas I know better than others, especially the North Suburbs and so I don't mind as much. My main complaint there is there's not enough demand to really keep you active for 90+% of the time. In the city, I can in many cases be active for hours straight with only slight delays between pings.I got a message saying that my current stats would put me in Advantage mode. My acceptance rate is 7%.
Remember Uber's "we'll pay you less if your trip destination is in a surge zone" scam to try to get drivers to take longer, undesirable trips? They failed to mention that the whack-a-mole surges won't even be there by the time you arrive! Not content with raping you into bankruptcy, now they want to rape your corpse.wow, advantage mode. Uber thanks for all your help.
you stupid scumbags
I would sooner self deport to South Sudan than be chasing Advantage mode.Is anyone here actively trying to improve their stats right now to achieve Advantage status? I'm not.
