Why make the lawyers rich?

Us drivers will only see pennies on the dollar compared to what they will get.

Example 100,000,000.00 settlement less 36% is 36 million for the law firm then you divide the rest among all Uber drivers (around 160,000) and each driver will get a check for $625 and probably face deactivation if they were one of the ones that signed up for the class action lawsuit, if they didn't they will fare better with Uber.

I can't disagree with this statement. I would only hope that the agreement would not allow UBER to deactivate drivers who have joined the suit. But we all know that they could easily find loop holes around this.

Please let us know .
If they can greyball and use hell program I'm sure they can send pings to non class action supporting drivers. Retaliating against opposing forces is the M.O. Ask the reporter who they hired a P.I to dig up dirt on who wrote negative pieces.

Actually only about 20% is divided amongst drivers. 33-40% to the lawyer depending if they have a structure fee clause. Then the rest to the initial plaintiffs who started the suit.

I'm not sure alot of driver can even be eligible if they didn't opt out of the clause in their contract. It says that drivers cant be part of a class action and must settle individually with an arbitrator.. idk either way I'll sit this one out and watch good luck to those who are entering hope you guys score

To those afraid of deactivation: By joining the lawsuit we let Uber now that we disagree with their practices. If all drivers joint the lawsuit do you think Uber is going to deactivate all the drivers?
one thing you're going to learn in life is that people are out to scam one another and take people's money.. that applies to cops, drug dealers and uber. they don't care about any of us, we're just tools to enrich themselves and nothing else. they will pay every judge in the land and lobby every politician they can get a hold of to do their bidding. accept that and just hustle the hell out of the game.

I'm not worried about the deactivation it's the lack of pings or only poo from 12-18 min away. This is a company that is vengeful and will I'm sure look at the drivers who signed. I'm not sure the pittance that you might get is worth getting grey balled or black balled or neutered . The names will be made available to all who are in the class

I have to agree.... I don't think this lawsuit will bring the equivalent of even one Saturday night's worth of fares driving azzhatz around.

I honestly don't think I will be doing this anymore past the holidays (I started last Nov). Pretty burned out already, down to doing only surges at this point. I won't drive at regular $.87 per mile anymore unless I have Destination filter on and they're going same way as me. Or if I need quick cash & they are coming off the train (I live next to the station) and I know I won't have to burn a lot of gas running them back & forth to their jobs locally. I can also hang out in my house with app on so much less stressful.

Remember that recent article that said only 4% of Uber drivers last more than 1 year. I think I will be a part of that statistic.
