Uber deactivated me too now. But they ran my background check out of the blue, I thought they do it around the inspection time.
The report was exactly the same as of last time but that time only Lyft deactivated me and Uber did not. But now somehow they decided it was time.

This definitely makes me wonder if my CR had something to do with it. It is like when they feel they need to deactivate someone they run the DMV check and kick em out. Nothing changed from the last time around except the high CR and when Lyft deactivated me, I think I had a high CR on Lyft too. So this is something definitely that needs to be looked at. And I have always wondered if Uber has a stake in checkr. It was the exact same report they did last time but somehow this time checkr decided to flag it as "Consider"

So in short my rideshare days are done. Well, time to move onto pastures new.

I thought I'd have another month before the annual background check deactivated me for good but I just got notified half an hour ago that I'd been deactivated.

The reason for deactivation (or how it's worded is not entering into an independent contractor relationship, as if this were the initial screening) is the following:

• MORE THAN 2 MINOR VIOLATIONS OR ACCIDENTS IN THE PAST 3 YEARS

I was not at fault in two of the three reported accidents and have the paperwork to prove it but as we all know, it doesn't really matter. I'll try appealing but I'm not hopeful.

I know this came up before but has anyone had any success in appealing a deactivation? I thought one of you continued to keep driving after 4 violations/accidents with Uber? Wasn't Lyft the ones who were strict about 3 accidents/violations?

When did they change from no more than 3, to no more than 2!???

I have 4. There is 1 at fault accident and those at fault accidents are 2 incidents (1 ticket, 1 accident).

Yes Peter I am all for my fellow ants out there struggling like me. The struggle never ends, it is either this or that and now my struggle will be a bit different than you guys

But still I am grateful that I was a part of something like this, I met thousands of different people, thousands of different stories, and the best part I am part of this wonderful community here at UP, I might not know any one of you personally but still we know alot about each other, we never give up.

This is not an adios, just another phase, I will be still hanging around alot because this forum gave me alot of hope, support, new friends, similar experiences and positivity albeit all the shit show tactics that Uber/Lyft kept pulling on us.

You mentioned somewhere that you wanted to lose some weight. Do you want me to show you a way to make some money and also work out lol? Become a Lugger. Rent a pick up truck and become a Lugger for Lugg. Another side gig.

Can't we do it in a Prius? Lol. I already have a payment on that Prius. I don't want to incur another loan just to do another gig.
But if you really are serious then we can look into it.

This shit is funny. Yet another crappy gig that came out of San Francisco lol, as if dog walking and poop reporting was not enough :biggrin:

Forget about these gigs man. Go and polish up your resume and get a real job. Everything happens for good. This deactivation will force you to find a real job now, and you can do it. Good luck!!!

once your oldest accident/violation becomes older than 3 years cant you reactivate your account?

I think once it falls off your DMV record then you can. And it takes 5 years for any ticket/accident to fall off your record.

I doubt mancity will slip but ucl yeah we have a good chance at it again.
