I would like to start off by saying I have been driving for Uber Eats for over 5 years now. In the past, if I ever went to a restaurant and the order was already picked up by someone else I could at least make $3 if I called into Uber to let them know so another driver wouldn't be sent to get it and waste they're time too. As of what I found out today in a long angry chat with Uber support, Uber made the change last quarter without notifying drivers I may add, that they will no longer be compensating a flat fee for orders that were picked up by someone else if you arrive at the restaurant and it's not available. In my long angry chat with support I pointed out that that is a waste of time and gas for the driver to drive to a restaurant and have the order not be available because of a glitch in Uber's Logistics. They apologized but informed me that that is just the way it is now and there was absolutely nothing that they could do about it. I am now considering no longer driving for Uber because I feel that they are just taking advantage of drivers by sending these orders which do seem to happen quite often and now we cannot even hope to get any kind of compensation for the time and gas that we spent to go get it. I'm sure many of you have dealt with this too. What have you decided to do now that Uber is not going to compensate us for our wasted time?
