I have a hybrid and have noticed more trip requests since Uber Green was launched.

-Before uberGreen I would say I get 70% uberx and 30% comfort,
-Now I think it’s more like 50% UberGreen, 20% Uberx, 30% comfort.


Uber are definitely forcing petrol cars off the app. So now is the time to get a hybrid, the extra revenue isn’t going to break the bank, soon all drivers will be Uber green capable, but the fuel Savings will be the biggest noticeable difference. Petrol cars use twice as much fuel,

 

Really you are no better off with Uber Green according to your figures. Uber do not pay anything extra to the driver for Uber Green. You are still doing 30% Comfort and 70% Uber Green / Uber X, which reward the driver the same return as if it was 70% Uber X.

 

Loving the ignorance from @tomgono - you realise Uber has mega plans to phase out emissions and Uber green is just the start of their ambition to boot ICE off platform.

I am well aware that Uber are phasing ICE vehicles off the platform by 2030. I am a senior driver and probably will be too old to drive rideshare by then.

In the meantime an electric vehicle is problematic for me because we have four cars in our family with mine parked in the street and unable to be charged in a garage. When my current ICE vehicle is clapped out I will probably buy a hybrid.

 

Yep agree big time - EV is not suitable for rideshare game yet. Range would require recharging every 2 days + rapid chargers are far and few between at the moment.

Give it 5 years and it will be fine akin to EU and their FES push

 

Could it be that Uber Green is simply “greenwashing”. And could it be that People are using Uber green instead of Uber x because it’s cheaper. Why is it cheaper? could it be that Because Uber believe the driver doesn’t have to pay as much for fuel it gives them room to make the ride even cheaper. And thats ubers’ strategy isn’t it? - high volume usage brought about by cheaper fares?

 

Uber X and Uber Green are identical fare structure.

It's a 2 pronged attack - gives the greenies a win so they feel all high and mighty with their RS trips + gives FUber statistics to prove they are doing something about reducing their greenhouse gas contributions

 

So its a merketing gimmick at the cost of ICE drivers.

 

Well sure but then VW got mega fined for being cheating con artists doing this so I would think scrutiny has increased for the testing processes?

Agreed about lab v real world - even efficiency figures are doctored and virtually impossible to get the 5L/100km haha

 

Mate all car companies overstate what possible. There isn't one car company out there that says their cars are crap. However majority of them go out of the way to over promise. It an cut-throat market with Chinese pumping out millions of garbage coffins that as reliable as an Mr beans car.
