Uber Eats "Leave at door"

Took a shot at Uber Eats yesterday. Had several "leave at door" requests. I did. Uber wanted a photo. Did that. Are you supposed to do anything else? This morning I had a email from Uber telling me I had a customer request to leave food at the door with the guideline/how to be safe. Didn't seem to be a complaint. Anyway, are we supposed to call the customer? One address had one of those locks you see on a door knob when a house is for sale (it was an apartment).

I did tap on the door of one house because the entry way was covered in ants and there was nowhere to place the food except there. She came to the door before I was too far away and I pointed to the ants. She seemed to appreciate it.

My acceptance is at 50% this morning. I declined pings when I was on a delivery so if anyone could tell me how to stop pings from coming in while on a delivery I would sincerely appreciate it. They had some long distance pings come up (Conroe to Montgomery) for like $2.99 and I wouldn't take that anyway. But it would be nice to stop the pings while on a current delivery...at least until I get used to this. If I keep doing it?

All you have to do to stop pings from coming in while on the delivery is to click on the menu button which will bring up the screen that has the icons to go online or offline but also in the lower right-hand corner has the two lines that look like sliding switches. Click on that icon bring up the type of things you want to accept and you can still adjust those while on a delivery. So uncheck the pings you don't want to accept during the delivery and reactivate them whenever you are ready. You can also just click on the icon to go offline and it won't take you offline until you complete the delivery that you are on. But you will not be able to accept any pings either during that time

The technical term for that is a "lockbox." (I'm a licensed Realtor.)

Sometimes places are being used for short term rentals. It's pretty common to use a lockbox for those. Especially in the summer for condos on Galveston Island, which are often rented for one week at a time.

If you want to, you can go ahead and *accept* those. The app already knows that you're on a trip or a delivery. It calculated and decided you're still going to be the fastest one, even though you'll have to complete the previous one first.

Thanks. The problem for myself (in accepting the other pings/stacking them) is that I may very well get a 12 to 15 mile trip for $2.99. Just not worth it for me. I am actually driving in and north of Conroe so I have to be selective about what I accept. I got "caught" with a stacked order the other morning and the deliveries were 13 miles apart. The second person was not happy about how long it took but what could I do? Just grin and bear it. I tried to figure out how to cancel the second delivery but couldn't, but at the same time I was trying to hurry and get the deliveries done so didn't spend a lot of time trying to figure it out. Having said all that , I will say that after driving for only 4 days the majority of people have been nice (well, the ones that met at the door).

Again, thanks for the advice.

Side note: another issue at least "up here" is that customers don't seem to understand that drivers don't have crystal balls. I have had three deliveries so far with a generic address (the address of the apartment complex) with no apartment name, no apartment number and no gate code so it takes time to get it figured out. The other morning I went to the apartment manager to see if they knew the person. They did. I am so glad I didn't have a stack on that one. The map has taken me to the middle of a 4 or 6 lane (well past the applicable apartment) a couple times.... But, I have committed to giving this a couple months to see if I can work out "the bugs" to make it work. If not, truck driving school for me......
