Hi guys!
I am new here. I am relocating from Denmark to Australia, Perth, for family reasons.
I have already skimmed trough Uber requirements, but got a few questions and would be extremely grateful if you, guys, helped me.

What I have learned:
- my car should not be older than 10 years;
- my car should have a 5-star safety rating.

I have been at ancap.com.au/ and gumtree.com.au/ and figured out that the cheapest car which would meet the requirements would be a 9-year-old Hyundai Accent with the average price of $7000-7500.

I am also a bit concerned about driver license requirements. I will have to change my Denmark license for an Australian one, but I found out that I will not be able to work for Uber till my Australian license is one year old.

Is everything correct?

Really sorry for my obsolete English, doing my best to improve it.

Yes you are correct re waiting for one year. You have to have held an Australian license for one year to drive for Uber. I'm not sure about Ola and Didi though. I'm sure someone else will give you a heads up on that.
What sort of car would you suggest?

Are Holden Belmonts still around? If they are, I suppose they even have Holden Belmont diesels now. Probably good as a rental.

.

While you were on Gumtree looking at cars, have you looked into purchasing another drivers account to share? There have been many drivers doing this lately. FUber condone this activity of course, but as long as you remain logged into such an account, there is no chance of being asked for photo verification.

You really cannot be more independent of FUber as an independant contractor if you never actually sign up with them in the first place. :sneaky:

First things first.. Wait a yr for the licence, meantime learn the language (since you said it's obsolete - update it... Lol) save $$$ and DON'T buy a 9 yrz old Hyundai accent... Better to just rent a car than buying a crap like that... That car is probably been trashed on uber and most likely will fall apart in no time
