Hi guys, two TSC officers asked me to apply for accreditation after seeing me drop-off a customer at T1 departure today. They also recorded my plate number. Is it necessary to do that? Any infringement will be issued?
Thanks.

Just dropped at T4. Along comes a friendly TSC operative:
Her - Here's some info on accreditation {hands me flyer}
Me - {feigning ignorance} Accreditation for what?
Her - Uber. You're driving Uber right?
Me - Nah just dropping some friends off.
Her - Why're they sitting in the back then?
Me - Lost a bet, had to chauffeur them all weekend.
Her - You know Uber isn't illegal right?
Me - Technically the TSC can issue fines to drivers for not being accredited and driving an unauthorized vehicle, or at least I've been told, by a mate.

Don't you just love that....
Uber was running just fine in Victoria (for a number of years now) without all this TSC accreditation bureaucracy nonsense. No doubt this is all about accreditation fee$ and keeping this useless organisation alive.

I got this the other day also, I asked the help dudes in the office on Thursday last week about it, Accreditation will come but not expected to be a requirement for Uber drivers for at least 12 month or more. TSC I believe are scare mongering trying to get fees from the gullible now before it is a requirement.

I looked at the site reference from the card and there is no explicit information referring to Uber drivers or what fees are required.

I was assured that Uber is in discussions with TSC and Uber will inform us well in advance of us requiring accreditation.

Remember the people handing out those flyers are 'Taxi" people and they generally do not like us.

My advice is to take one of the flyers and store it away for when you do need it, any others you receive just bin them. Let the TSC waste more of their money printing them and wasting time telling us that we have to comply and wait until we really do have to. Personally it wasted about 30 seconds of my time to listen to them. I just smiled afterward and drove away.

I just complete trip on the ramp to departure area and shut down app. Always ask my pax to go along with I'm dropping a friend off .. TSC can't prove your Uber so no case at answer.
Funny how there at the airport but not just waiting at the races pick point.
But if you are busted Tom is right can hold your car and lock you up in a Turkish prison.
