Tracy, CA and Dublin/Pleasanton BART?

I realize this might not be the place for this, but I haven't found a better outlet. Please feel free to redirect me. Believe it or not, getting knowledgeable feedback would be a huge help.

I'm considering a move to Tracy. (Not ideal, but work situation is complicated.) I'm trying to figure out if I'd be able to get regular rides
(1) from Tracy to the Dublin/Pleasanton BART in the AM and
(2) from the BART to Tracy in the PM.

I know traffic can be horrendous. I have some flexibility on time. If it makes a difference, by "regular rides" I mean requesting both legs possibly every workday.

Is there any reason to believe I'd be able to Uber both legs? Under what conditions would anyone be willing to do either of these?

Thanks for replying. I appreciate it!

I will check the app. Should have done that earlier. (Have only used it once as a one-time thing in LA.)

Stupid follow up: Do you suggest any other ways -- save for flying out and experimenting -- to find out if Tracy drivers are totally uninterested in the AM leg? Based on threads like (https://uberpeople.net/threads/are-we-allowed-to-refuse-rides.14640/#post-193977), my concern is that the driver would just call and then ask me to cancel due to the traffic. So even if drivers are available, it seems possible I wouldn't get a ride.

Sure it's possible, nobody wants to operate at loss.

I'd think, however, that Tracy drivers, if any, would be more willing to go to Pleasanton (probably there is more business there). And driving from Pleasanton to Tracy would be a worse gig, unless it's 2.0+ surge. To much traffic, time lost, no business in Tracy, dead miles on the way back.

If you are willing to spend $5 to talk to a real driver, request a ride making sure there's a driver close to the pin drop and once she arrives ask her and tell her that you are happy to have her wait so she can get the cancellation fee and then chat. You may find a regular driver that way.

In my experience, I live in Modesto, 20 min from Tracy, the Central Valley drivers from south of Stockton will rarely turn down any trip (I know if I'm driving in the valley, I certainly don't)....ever, more likely to have issues going from Pleasanton to Tracy..also, win the express lane being free for carpools (2+ppl) it's somewhat quicker for the driver out of Pleasanton and into Tracy...

Your mileage may vary of course.

And I mostly drive in sf and sfo

Also, you can find a driver that is willing to commit to that drive and exchange info. Have them drive to your house and have them ping you when you are already in the car. Of course they will be the closest driver. I have not tried this yet, but it makes sense in my head. The important part is this: offer a decent tip like $50 a week. Someone would take that gig. Heck, I would if I lived close enough. Good luck.

You cannot set a destination from Tracy to the Bay Area. You can only set is going from the bay area to Tracy. I work Friday in San Francisco and then come to Livermore (I set the destination and sometimes get someone part of the way) at 12:30am because Livermore surges at that time. I stay busy until I go home at 4:00am. I got a guy from the Bart going to Concord at 3.0 surge. It cost him $75.00. I have never had Bart back to Tracy though.

I live in Tracy and start driving in Livermore on the days I Uber. No early morning shifts so no idea on that other than the traffic is horrendous until late morning heading West. I can confirm what was mentioned above that Tracy has no Destination Filter. I've tried turning the app on at home and cross my fingers for a pax to East Bay. It happens once in a while, but that trip to Stockton messes up the whole plan.

For the trip back from wherever to Tracy in the evening, I set my Destination Filter for Tracy and NOT ONCE have I got a pax going there. It's always a dead mile trip back home. Also, not a good idea to try to head home before 7:30/8pm. Freeway is jammed up until then.

I eat the 20 miles to Livermore early afternoon. Go with the pax flow the whole day. Set a filter to get back to the East Bay if I'm far away around 7pm. That gets me paid to snake my way back to Dublin'ish, then eat the 20-30 miles back to Tracy.

Not sure if any of that helps.
