That applies mostly to base rate 45+ drivers. Different story if you're working the core, hitting incentives, occasional surge rides, and using DF's wisely. All that adds up and puts you well above your estimate. I'm all for longer surge rides and don't mind the deadmiles, but those are limited in winter. Nothing has changed the last couple years.
Doing 45+ base rides is preferable as long as it takes you to a busy surge area, going home, or there Is a reasonable chance of a return ride. Driving for base in the core for short trips that pay $4-5 for 20 min of work is not profitable, not even for those stupid CTB, since they require you to take every undesirable ping, whether it be a 10 min pickup for 3 mile run or an unwanted base long ride in traffic, which wipes out any profit made from the bonuses.

Best to not drive at all or limit driving to more lucrative hours, and have other income sources to weather the storm

You don't think everyone here anted before?

Try 5 minutes per mile in the core, That's more realistic for LA traffic. The actual wear and tear you put on your car to drive a city mile in LA is probably 3x more than a highway mile.

How is it any different except maybe worse? The core has the worst traffic in LA county, Meaning even a $5 short ride can take you 15 minutes actual driving time, NOT counting time to pick up, waiting, people getting in and out. Incentives, You are talking about that 3 consecutive rides for $5 like the Wed 7-9AM rush hour one? Surge is almost none existence and 1.3x surge for a $5 ride makes very little difference. All those add up to like $2 extra per ride maybe? You are still netting around minimum wage while carrying a huge risk comparing to any other job.

The more you talk, The more I think you don't actually drive. Get off your desk, Try taking a few rides from Hollywood to Weho or BH and learn what really driving the core is like and what kinda trash UberX drivers have to deal with daily.
exactly, its like people who try and save 30 cents going to Costco for gas and wait in line for 20 mins to get gas. No thanks...

Here's the last week I was completely off the desk during a regular work/school week. 15 mph for 55 hours is about 800 miles. Can we agree on that at least. Didn't even bother finishing off the weekend incentives. Looks like it's well above minimum wage. Promos are lower this week, but $25 ph isn't impossible for 50-60 hours of work while maintaining a decent mileage rate for all miles driven. OP is right about this board.

Serious question, how come premium drivers never include time online when posting screenshots? It provides better context, but they'd rather sit on their pedestal and not be subject to scrutiny.

They don't include time because a lot of them have their phones on at home or spend lots of time snoozing in a queue.

Glad you extracted that much value from your car. What happens then Uber cuts the promos?

Less than 1k miles on a beater Prius is some serious overhead. When Uber cuts rates I will lease an SUV and watch ******* all day. In the meantime, I like having a beer in the middle of the week with friends after I finish pm rush.

If you're using a beater Prius you're doing it right.

I have no criticism for anyone who can actually do it right.

Uber On!

I see it as similar to the metal incentives with a higher ride requirement. Every expert on this board was "anting" during that time. Only difference is they were doing it during the peak season and the pay was generally in the $25-$30ph range. Charlotte surge, regular surge, boost, quest, streak, whatever. Have to make lemonade with the lemons you get. It's still an entry level gig.

With his next to last post, I was already certain of sock puppet status. The posted earnings were a dead giveaway. Why is it sock puppets make even more ridiculous posts when they are called out? Double downing?

Let’s see. Joined the forum 1/1/19. Just in time to try to amp up new recruits. I will give you props for initially attempting a new approach, but you couldn’t help yourself with photoshopped earnings.

Anybody with sense never drives in the core...especially in rush hour. We also are supposed to believe that you average $30/hr for all the time your app was on and you received all this money in promos/quest? You supposedly completed 100 rides and only got like $15 in tips. Riders are cheap, but you made a mistake with that one.

I’ll let the others go back and forth with you. I know what you are.

Here's last week's photoshop numbers. Lousy promos, took the weekend off. Still made around $30ph.

I have only had horrible drivers on X/Classic.

Also a few nasty SUV's-but drove ok.

My experiences with X/Classic has been total inept female drivers, drugged out on muscle relaxers dude, cars I thought wouldn't make it, and drivers with zippo English that don't understand "Right on red allowed, only When Safe, snd only After a full stop".

I will not book a X/Classic to the airport, unless I have enough time to:

A) Have driver get lost

B) Have driver involved in a collision

C) Have driver break down
So your a paxhole. Back seat drive much?

Those are legit numbers. Average around $10 per trip (pre-promo $'s). The challenge is doing that week in week out. This month won't come close...too slow.
