I can't belive Surge zone because no call when I waiting for between 11:45am-1pm at surge zone of downtown core area.

Pax have gotten smart and usually wait for the surge price to go away before ordering a ride. For that reason I never chase surge pricing zones.

Only Newbies chase surge zones........ It's just bait to lure the greedy ... While you guys are chasing surges, I'm in the non surges zones getting pings non stop.

Agreed Myxx. Volume at non-surge rates still pays really well hourly. Working downtown until midnight weekend nights is also a huge benefit for me. I'm on the fringe surge areas, where people are willing to pay 1.3x-1.6x so I get a lot of those and drive until around 3:30 or until I get a fare that takes me to Scarborough anytime after 2:00 (I can eliminate my gas price home as a pure expense that way).
