Rideshare gap coverage - age limit on vehicle?

I called my current car insurer (Farmers) about adding gap coverage, and they said they only offer it if the vehicle is a max of 3 years old. I drive a 2019 Civic. For those of you using other carriers for this coverage, are they applying age limitations as well?

ps: I can anticipate all the comments on "you don't have gap coverage?!", so no need to opine on that.

To be clear(er), I'm talking about adding coverage from your own insurer for when you are logged on to the app but have not yet accepted a ride. Farmers will do this but only on cars that are a max of 3 years old.

This likely makes sense. Rationale probably is after 3 years of rideshare driving, the car value is so depreciated that the chance of claim is way too high - guaranteed to be underwater in value.

To be clear, are we talking about general rideshare insurance that is supplemental to regular insurance? Or are we talking about gap insurance which is supposed to repay your lender if the car is totaled and the market value is not enough to pay off the remaining loan.

I think Progressive (or Liberty Insurance - I forget which one) goes up until 8 years old. Just try different companies. You could call Mapfre and they'd find something that would work for you, too.
