Has anyone here have the pre book option in there app?, im unaware that uber now takes pre booking...if so? Where is it on our drivers app??...educate me please..

I have taken two pre booked rides and I did not know that they were until the rider told me.
It would appear that Uber does not actually book a ride beforehand but simply relies on the reality that they can get a driver when needed. They give a 15minute arrival time and rely one of their army of drivers to be around.
I think they started only in the inner suburbs but they are now in the eastern suburbs, probably everywhere in metro Melbourne.
There is no option in the driver APP.
All just my understanding - might be wrong. I was once before.
PS - if it's surging the rider pays the surge. No promises when pre booking.

Its on the pax app only. They are the ones prebooking a ride. You as the driver don't/can't/won't see these pre booked ride
All prebooked does, it automatically 'ping' a driver at the time you select. You as a driver, know nothing/see nothing 'different'.

Yeah, nah... prebooked rides have been around for a year! Melbourne got them in Sept 2016!

Uber has many illegal drivers. Thats the key to them getting quick cars. Once regulated it wont be so quick

I think these are often the cause of long pings too as i took one once when it was super quiet - 14 mins and it was a pre-booked.

I think Kiwiride was hoping you could see what prebooked rides are around from the drivers app, and select one you would like to do!

I have found on occasion that although the app states 12-15 mins (or whatever time), once you start heading to the pickup location, the eta will drop by minutes rather quickly, so it may not always be a long drive to collect pax.

Yes you can! Use to have many repeat paxs, as they wanted a ride and I started online around the same time. So we both had been in the 'same' area, around the same times.
But if you let a ping 'timeout' it normally won't come back to you though, for that session (not always but mostly).

I have had got the 4 consecutive pings from the same pax(location, rating) from 20km west when I happened to be in Melton.

Sorry noob question but most of these pax don't pay from their own pockets. How do you give them invoice, a handwritten one?
