Exactly, why risk the ticket. Try explaining to the cop "Uber said only for pick up"... And while it may be true it's only for pick up, who knows what the truth is, the cop writing the ticket will do what he thinks. I'm taking full advantage of this gap in information. Any city pax requesting a ride to the airport I inform the passenger that recent change in rules prevent me from driving you, Uber has not yet mailed out the proper tags required. I then ask psx to cancel the ride.

Hi people. Another question. Saturday night I was driving northbound on RIver road in rosemont. That's when I got a ping saying " ohare airport terminal 2 " , something like that.... So.... Why did I get that ping when I WASNT IN THE ORD LOT ??? Maybe because no other driver was available from the ORD staging lot ? Or maybe because rosemont is SO CLOse to the airport the gps " thought " I was close enough to the holding area ??

I think holding lot gets a lot bigger when there aren't many drivers in it. I've had the wait clock pop up on Manheim, 190, and way out on York. I do to good around O'Hare to wait in the lot so I don't do pickups.

I live by York and Grand in Bensenville, and routinely get pings from there when I'm just sitting at home, usually starting at like 10pm. Couple weeks ago, I dropped off a fare in Addison, and still got a O'Hare ping. I accepted that one since I was heading home towards that way. Usually pax will cancel, but sometimes they don't. I don't mind heading there from home, since its usually a $20-25 fare.

That's a great intersection for pings and usually has the cheapest gas around. If I lived there I'd sit at home to.

I guarantee the lot was empty. Got pinged on 90 at Cumberland Saturday afternoon....on Lyft. Rider called and said they were held up, so I swung by the lot to see what was going on. Only a handful of cars, most Select.

You can get really cooked doing pick ups at ord.. How's Naperville then Batavia and not a single flipping ping back ... 40 mile burn... F that.. Uber better get that destination ping for drivers up and running soon.. I hear it's in the works..I cannot tell you how many times I drive back from the city empty while watching other drivers loaded going the same way I am to go home

I don't think Uber will ever do anything smart to help drivers... Even if it helped Uber. I never wait at ORD for pickups, I've done it twice and never will again. Both times I waited over 90 minutes after the "que wait" said it was 25-45 minutes - another Uber lie to mislead drivers. One ride took me to Elmhurst for $10.40 cents and the other was Oak Park for $12.45. I live in the city and like working the city, ORD waiting lot is a total losing proposition for me. The destination option would help a guy like me wait it out believing I could choose city but I don't believe that will ever happen, so no go on me waiting there.

If wait is > 20-30 I leave.

Is there a wait clock for Uber X? I have not found one. I actually use the wait clock for Lyft and it seems like it never fails that when i am down to within three or so cars ...Uber X dings.
