Really upset about new rates, here's what I'm emailing uber tonight. Your thoughts?

Daniel 2013 Yukon XL Black

Last week I grossed $1250, after fees I netted $928. I spent over $300 in gas, so I truly only profited $628. Not including over 70 hrs on the road, ware and tear on my vehicle.

With your new rate 20% less, I would have netted roughly $743 minus my gas $300, I would have only profited $443.

Because of these new rates, I no longer feel this is good for me, I have been told by 90% of my riders I have the nicest uber they have been in. Thank you for the opportunity in working with Uber.

Old uber fare $1.75 mile
Rider fares $100
Uber 20% $20
Gas $20
Net profit $60

New uber rates 20% less $1.25 mile
Rider fares $80
Uber 20% $20
Gas $20
Net profit $40

I had to stop driving. I was losing money on the deal. When you consider the 56 cents per mile depreciation on your vehicle, you've got a net loss. Uber says demand for vehicles is at an all-time high. That's because so many of us have given up. People now just give up and call a cab because of the wait times are too long. When will Uber realize they make more $$ when more of us are out on the road driving clients?

We're driving for free almost! And the rating crap sucks. Just picked up two young escorts. They brought my rating from 4.82 to 4.76 I'm fed up with this rating shot. It isn't fair for the drivers!
I agree with you, is there any meetup spots where uber drivers meet up to talk about uber stuff in person?

I have heard of other cities drivers coming together to boycott.

Im in for the boycott! I was expecting prices to increase ... not decrease... let alone 20%!?
**** uber!
They want to be almost 50% cheaper than a cab? My car is too nice and worth too much money to pile up miles for shit money. I think they can get away with it because there are so many drivers now.

driver rates down = customer service is down ! period!
I didn't even make enough tonight to get a $50 detail in the hood.

A Yukon XL isn't the vehicle to be X'ing in. Your expenses would be $200 less if you were X'ing in a proper vehicle for this job.

Everybody here gets so rallied up at every opportunity without even trying to offer objective opinions.
I run on e85 gas, I get a lot of XL request. But this 20% hit doesn't make sense.

Couldn't have said it better.

Do you really think I'm concerned about their complaints ?
Hopefully not. But another driver was either warned or booted by Uber because he had a tip sign in his car. Customers don't want to be reminded that their cheap rides are coming at the expense of drivers and the entitled little pricks will complain if you remind them.

Ummm if you're driving a Yukon, your fares haven't been cut by 20%, more like 10%...The UberX drivers got their fares cut by 30% which REALLY SUCKS!!!
In the future, do not accept X fares....if you do continue to accept X fares, you need to modify your calculations, because your gross will drop by 30% not 20%
