Need help changing account details

So my bank used to use a member number to give to employers in order to get paid (you have an account number as well but it was always easier to just give the member number).
Now my bank has decided after over a decade to scrap the member number warning that anyone putting money into my account needs to use the account number instead or the money wont go in.
Now I have to deal with Uber.
When I try to change my bank account details through the Uber app it wont allow me stating "A network error has occurred"
When I try to change it through the web site I get the message "Editing bank information is unavailable at this time. Please try again later."
After having to call the "Support number" several times to find the right automated path to speak to a human I'm told he can't change anything and it has to go to a specialised department who will contact me within 24 hours to help with the issue.
He contacted me.
Through Email.
With a link to the website where I can change my details.
The same website that once again tells me "Editing bank information is unavailable at this time. Please try again later."

Any ideas how to sort this out? Maybe someone has a direct number to this "Specialised Department"
