At the beginning of the year, Uber admitted there was a bug where drivers' reservations were disappearing.

I also had a reservation over a thousand dollars disappear then and kept complaining.

Anyway, there are a lot of strange things happening, so I've been taking screenshots.

Yesterday, a reservation disappeared two hours before the pickup time.
Even though I have screenshots, when I ask Uber about it, they just give me ridiculous excuses about it not being online or being late.

Sometimes reservations disappear, and the common thread is that it's always high-priced reservations with high booking fees.

I'm starting to suspect that if I pay a high booking fee and another driver accepts it with a lower booking fee, they might just erase the record.

Are there other victims who've had similar experiences?

So you're suggesting that after you accept a reservation with a high fee, Uber keeps shopping it around to other drivers at a lower fee, then just ditches you when they find someone cheaper? Sounds like something Uber would do.

yeah, you had a $1000 reservation... unless you are an uber black driver, i'm calling BS
Earlier this year, about 20 reservations for airport rides, ranging from $30-$100, disappeared. Uber admitted there was a bug at the time and that they were working on fixing it. I received about $100 in compensation for 5 of those trips.

Had a lone reserved taxi ride this morning. TaxiVan to the airport. (XL equivilant) Talking to the folks and they said that it wasn't even really that much more than uberX carseat and the last time they reserved uberX carseat no car ever showed up and it left them scrambling.

Today they told me that they got the text saying van 351 disiptched and on the way at 4:11 with an ETA of 4:32. (4:30 pickup time) and after they got the 4:11 text they knew everything was gravy.

$40 on the meter $50 with tip and only $1.25 in tolls gtting to the pickup.

It seems slike EVERYONE i drive on reserved ridees for taxis has something similar to say. Yesterday (th 4th) I had an 11:00 am reserved ride to the airport

XL Taxi for 6. In the app notes they put 10 suitcases 4 carry ons and a trombone. They said that the first XL they got from the aiirport the drivr had a ton of stuff and didt have room for half their luggage and they had to reorder for a different one. They still ended up with an XL and an X going from the airport.

They saw some of our cabs running around and KNEW ONE would be big enough.

I showed up and first thing I said "let me grab my munchkin seat"

If that was really the case and happened, may be we as a contractor would have a case to sue Uber for cancellation trips contract for their profit gain. May be. It was just a thought. A lawyer would know if driver could sue.

You know a rider can cancel a ride up to 1 hour before without getting charged, right? It happens all the time when their plans change or they see they can get a much cheaper rider through the usual request method. This is nothing new. Reserved rides are not guaranteed until you are online 1/2 hour before reservation and you are close enough to the pickup area to make sure you reach the person by the scheduled time.
Never count on a reservation to not be canceled, and no, you dont get paid unless the app spits out a ride request to go pick up this reserved ride and you have to hit the accept button.

Seems to me reservations are only good if they are shorter trips… same with exclusive… rider radar leaves out information so you don’t really know if it’s worth it. Only way long distance trips are worth it is with a tip. If you don’t get a tip you end up with less than minimum wage after you withhold for overhead, car payment and maintenance and taxes… I’m paying myself very little already after working at least 50-60 hours per week…

Furthermore I am seeing exclusive requests appear and almost instantly disappear before I can even read it… only when I am around the airport… something not right with that…
If there's 100 idle drivers sitting at the airport 50 will be sittiing there with the screen open ready to take them to moment they appear.

Nothing suspicious is going on. People cancel reservations for various reasons. On airport rides, for instance, travel plans change, or a flight ends up getting cancelled or delayed.

Additionally, a passenger can see your name and rating. Maybe your rating is low, or you don't have very many rides. Personally, I've cancelled reserved rides several times when the passenger has a low rating, and brand new customers with no ride history make me a little nervous.

I don't mean to be disrespectful here, but passengers, particularly American women named Karen, may cancel on you if you don't have an American name, because they would feel more comfortable with a driver named, "David", or "Mary", rather than "Habib". It sucks, but no doubt, it happens.

In my direct area. Reservations don't pay enough. Other markets. I get on the fly reservations. Meaning a driver canceled last minute. They pay well most of the time.
