To sue in small claims court you have to serve the other side which means needing to know where to have someone served and also whom to serve. Would love that information from the poster or anyone who knows. Thanks!

In NYC the court serves the defendant.
I am sure that uber has a local office in Texas that is close to you. Preferably within your country. Use that address to serve them. If it is not in your country, make sure that your local court has jurisdiction. If not, file in the court that has uber office.

Hey guys,

So the date in court came up. I took an uber to court.

I am lucky.

Uber never showed up.

I won the judgement and took it to Uber's Chelsea office.

The manager took a copy, and I received a phone call from Uber legal.

They claimed they have never heard of the suit (which is awesome for me) but they wished to pay me the judgment.

(It does not make sense for them not to pay because I could cause them enough ambarassment and go for collection, which would look real bad on the credit of a start up like uber)

Sure enough the check arrived within a week, delivered to my door by UPS.

Everyone, suing uber in small claims court is the way to go!

Or at least in NYC

I stopped driving for uber. But they would never risk a lawsuit by messing with you over a legal dispute that you have won.

Also, you are dealing with different entities within Uber that do not know much about your legal dispute

3rd, uber has an interest in keeping you driving, and they also know how corrupt of a company they are, so I don't think they would hold it against you for suing them.

Congratulations on collecting the money. At first I thought that they would put up a fight.
When you filled the suit against them, what address did you use for uber?
I mean Chelsea, LIC, etc?
Thanks

As a part time law student (on/off) I can tell you that you can serve a business at ANY location where they conduct business at a regular basis. Just like an individual can get served at their place of work (very embarrassing), a company can get served at any location where they operate. So any permanent Uber location is a go, meaning any of their green light locations.

this is the information that make these forums work. News people can use this is how drivers help each other if not anything else. Information and knowledge will be the key to educating each other in turn creating a better situation overall. We have to protect and look out for each other all the division and no solidarity surely helps these companies take advantage of drivers across the board. Everyone from TLC app companies even the city have hands in your pockets when they take and take what is left for you to feed you and your family?? Traffic agents target drivers as they know the ticket will be paid much faster because the vehicle is your livelihood.
