Waited in MIA Intl queue for 25 min., get Lyft PING. Drive to pin drop, no rider seems interested. I call PAXhole 3X, no answer. Circle back (5Min) to his pin, call again; he picks up. I find him after 10 minutes. He gets in, I explain that I drove 10 minutes around trying to find/call him. His reply; "I was on a conference call... what can I do?" I explained his ride was 2 miles and I'd already driven further than that looping the terminals. He offered no apology...

So, I pulled into an enterprise lot, ended the ride, he got out, cursed me, slammed my door and I drove off. I gave him 1 star too.

He cost me 1 hr. He got dumped for being a self entitled millennial jerk. If he'd have said; "I'm so sorry, I see I missed several of your calls. Here's 10$. No problem.

I have lost most patience with these skuzzyjerks.

I feel for you. Some riders can be very frustrating. Why didn’t you take the cancel fee in the first place? The reality is that you kidnapped him and drove him somewhere and dumped him. Hope you don’t get suspended for your efforts...

Well, I ended the ride because my chest literally hurt. I saw red. I just could drive. It's not my fault that we are somehow expected to BE OKAY WITH MAKING 2.89$ for an airport ride. It doesn't cover my expenses. The reason I didn't cancel was because Lyfts GPS is inaccurate. I had no idea he was on a conference call in the terminal when I arrived to pick him up.

If I was reasonably paid for my work at the airport, I'd tolerate these things. For 2.89$ I won't. UBER tells me its a short rude and gives me the front of the queue. Lyft gives me the shaft, a rude PAX and a best ride, with no hold on my place in the queue.

When I explained what he'd done, causing me to drive to pick him up 2X, calling him 3 with no p/u, and then offering no apology, he lost his privilege to be in my car. I will not be taken advantage of by these people.

I'm not sure if I'd ever be okay with that. His mentality was ge got over on me, got what he wanted and thought I'd swallow my pride. Instead, I took him where he needed to be; a car rental counter.

Ridesharing is a courtesy based idea.

I have reached such a level of ****-it-all, that instead of collecting my $5 after 5 mins, I would have kept it going indefinitely and gone and gotten an Uber ride. I've turned full Samoir now, no going back LOL. With this method, I still get my $5, but the rider can't call another ride until this one is canceled.. so I waste his time, since he wasted mine.

The PAXhole literally said; "I was busy. Whatevs....."

I felt I gave it to him as best I could. I also ended his ride on the meter.

You did great. Try not to let him get to you.. next time, only give them 5 minutes. In fact at 4:30, turn your car around if you need to and position yourself to make a fast exit. At 4:50, I'm rolling now. I make a good faith effort to find them, I always call if they aren't toes to the curb, and I don't tolerate this wasting of my time and my money. This is a job!

Like I said OP, Lesson Learned.

You know a minimum is going to be crap pay but a cancellation of Lyft guarantees $5 (and a single ring) and 5 minutes.

Going forward, dont turn off Uber when you a Lyft request...this way if you get a cancellation, youre still in a queue.

..or dont do queues.

I'm not going to lie, the struggle is real.

Don't waste time second-guessing if the GPS is whacked or the paxhole is lost. Who cares? Take your cancel fee and bounce back to the queue ASAP.

I give pax anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute to get to my car, then I shuffle the bums.

You're correct, this IS a job.

Despite the claims by the dreamers, the fuber ass-kissers, and the shills, we are not business owners, we're hired laborers.

And pax are not OUR customers, they're FUBER'S.

We're poorly paid versions of UPS drivers, but instead of fetching packages, we fetch pax.

Oh my...where to start?
  1. Rideshare is about MONEY...not courtesy.
  2. If you think that was bad, you will be in Living Hell during Spring Break, Ultra, and Urban Beach Week!
  3. You gave the asshole a ride to the Rental Car Center. There is a FREE train to the Rental Car Center. Next time, tell them to cancel, go up to the 3rd level and take the FREE train! They save money, you're back in the queue, nobody gets hurt.
  4. The Lyft GPS problem is real, but it is not YOUR problem. Don't make it your problem.
  5. His conference call was HIS problem, not YOUR problem. Don't make it your problem.
  6. Drive to pickup. Wait 4:45. Place call to pax. Let it ring ONE time, then hang up. When the timer hits 0:00, cancel and collect $5.
  7. Don't take this crap so personal. It's not personal; it's business.

Dude, I’m sorry but you’re in the wrong here. That’s straight up passive aggressive nonsense. It’s a *****y girlfriend move.

You should have cancelled the ride. You chose to waste all that time and let him in your vehicle, therefore all bets are off. You can’t get pissed off at a paxhole, stew about it, then accept the ride and ***** about it to him. You either let it go and act professional, or cancel on his ass and smile about your canx fee trophy.

YOU made the choice to wait. Don’t ever continue a ride if you’re going to be pissed off about it. It’s not worth it. The beauty of this gig, is we get to choose. Suck it up and move on.

Worst of all, now that paxhole feels vindicated rather than learning a lesson. Whenever a pax is shitty to me for no reason, I kill em with kindness. I’ll never give them the satisfaction of engaging.
