Does Disney have an official policy on Uber?

With parking now $20 how many people staying at off property (but still close) hotels just call an Uber and save a few bucks by not having to pay the parking fee?
In Miami there was a flight attendant that rode the train from the airport and ordered a ride, via me, to take her like 5 blocks away. People can be real cheapskates.

When I Uber, I usually work the tourist areas. It amazes me how often passengers will tell me that every single one of their other Uber drivers has only driven a day or two. I rarely find pax that tell me they had experienced Uber drivers. Earlier today I took someone from the Grand Flo to the Dolphin. The rider was absolutely amazed that I knew where the Dolphin was. He said that he has been using Uber since he got to Orlando and I was the first person who knew where they were going.

I'm posting this because it's proof that Uber's turnover is through the roof, and the drivers they do hire have no knowledge of the area. It's also pretty obvious they can't use GPS, either. Today was not the first time riders have told me this, but it's been happening so often I wanted to post it.

Seriously, why work Disney if you can't use GPS and/or you don't know where everything is?

Disney doesn't want to make it convenient for drivers because they want people to use their modes of transportation. Disney has its own buses, shuttles, trams, cars & even boats that will bring the customers to & from the parks.

Showing Disney the waybill *sometimes* works. Sometimes they make you pay parking anyway, sometimes they threaten to call the Sheriff on you, don't let you in, and you have to cancel the ride.

Another thing.. a lot of the uber drivers have annual passes,

So if you charge a passenger 17 to get in the gate unlike every other driver they have had all week enjoy your 1 star.

Also you can have your annual pass suspended for using it to bypass parking for commercial activity.

It doesn't matter if you are picking up or dropping off, it's 17 bucks bro.

Disney HAS NOT signed a deal with uber allowing them free drop off/pick up access. Work that area at your own risk.

Whether you are a uber driver or a taxi driver. You do not pay the fee anymore. It has been over 2 months already. I work the international drive area and have taken people to disney many times whether as XL or as a taxi driver and do not have to pay the fee anymore. All you have to say is "I'M dropping off" and will signal you where to go. THERE IS NO MORE PAYING FOR DROPPING PEOPLE AT DISNEY.

I have 5 annual passes on my account.. I spend probably an additional $10,000 or more there every year taking my kid there buying him stuff and staying on property and stuff since I live in Tampa. Actually when you factor in the drinks at Epcot for the food and wine festival it is probably much more than $10k heh.

If they want to suspend my annual pass because I use it to get into the parking lot that I pay to get into then I will gladly take my money to Universal Studios. I'm up for renewal in February anyway and I am not sure I like the new pricing.

I don't really consider driving for Uber "commercial activity" it is a hobby for me that makes me some extra cash..

There are some statements about the parking fee that are not correct. Any company that has a transportation concession with Disney does NOT pay the taxi/limo/shuttle/bus fee. For example, Checker has the taxi concession with Disney so they do NOT have to pay the fee. City Cab and Yellow Cab, also owned by Mears, do not have the Disney taxi concession and would be required to pay if they were dropping off guests at a theme park. If the passengers in a City Cab or Yellow Cab were guests staying on Disney property, they would not be charged the fee. On the other hand, passengers in Yellow or City cabs who were not staying on Disney property would be charged the fee the first time the taxi passed through the gates.

Disney Magical Express buses, owned and operated by Mears, do not pay a fee. Mears Motor Shuttle would not pay a fee, if they had the shuttle concession with Disney. It's been a while since I checked, so I don't know if they are still the official shuttle company. When I drove a towncar for Mears, Transtar had the towncar concession, so we had to pay whenever we dropped off a guest at a theme park. It sucked, but there was nothing we could do about it. It didn't happen too often, but when it did I just ate the parking fee.

The gate in front of the Magic Kingdom is a non-issue, if you know how to use Google Maps. The only gates you have to worry about are EPCOT, DHS and AK.

Some cast members are nice and they will let you drop off without paying. Others are Nazis, and they seem to enjoy collecting the money.
This isn't true anymore, All mears taxis can pick up and drop at Disney fee free, under certain conditions. All mears taxis can drop free of charge. If someone calls me personally to get picked up from say Contemporary hotel to go to the airport at 5:00 am I can simply drive up to the hotel with a sign with the dudes name and wait for him to come out. All I have to do is tell dispatch ahead of time, and they will call the valet with my cab number and the passenger's name.
Also if I drop at the contempory and there are no cabs there they can hop in.
There is no official shuttle company, the Disney Express however is complementary, and run by mears. SO YES, but no.
Lastly, at Mears's discretion they can open up any of the parks to all fleets. This hasn't happened all year since the big gay pool party during Gay days.
The fleet system is ceasing to exist. Every day more and more of the old name cars are being taken out of service and replaced with Mears Taxis. The only distinction is whether they have city of Orlando, or airport permits. Disney is recognizing all Mears cabs as being able to enter without paying parking. Additionally several of the other cab companies have a DROP ONLY no fee deal.
I am city fleet but Mears Taxi branded... fyi.

So I'm going to Disney this weekend and staying off-site and don't have a rental car. What would y'all suggest I put in the address I want to go space for my Uber drivers? I'm planning on going to MK one day, Epcot the second and AK the third day. I don't want to make it difficult for the drivers, so I'd really like some advice on what to put for the addresses so it'll make it easier on them.

I've heard to use Contemporary Resort for my drop-off for MK but I don't want to inconvenience anyone.

Thanks in advance!

Erica

Put in "Magic Kingdom" or "Epcot" or "Animal Kingdom".

Hello my fellow Lyft/Uber Orlando drivers. I'm headed with the family to Orlando for a week of vacation at the parks and trying to decide if I should rent a car and pay for parking at the parks or Uber/Lyft it. I would rather take Lyft or uber but wanted to know if y'all are ok to pick up/drop off at the airport and all of the parks?

Airport wise only Uber Select and XL can pick up, any level Uber can drop off
Also At the parks any Uber can pick up or drop off. I know at Universal the pick up/drop up is at the same area as the Taxis. At Disney parks it will probably be the transportation center also where taxis pick up and drop-off.

LOL, black car and black SUV are the only ones that can pickup

This is kinda sorta wrong dude...

There are actually 7 different drop off points at the 7 different MAIN PARKS
the ticketing and transportation center is just one of those 7 and you would need a connecting bus to get to any of the other 6

1 Ticketing and transportation center (Magic kingdom)
2 Epcot
3 Disney studios (FKA Disney Hollywood studios, FKA Disney MGM studios)
4 Animal Kingdom
5 Blizzard Beach
6 Typhoon lagoon
7 Disney Springs (FKA Downtown Disney)

I seriously wonder if you ever worked the area or are just a troll sometimes.

As far as pickups/drop-offs, it will depend on the skill of the driver and their ability to navigate/con their way past Disney security as to whether or not you have to pay $15+ to park.
