So I joined Doordash back in November. No issues there. then I decided to join Uber eats back in January. I did a background check and a DMV record which came back pretty quickly and then Uber cleared me to drive for them. Early March I got an email saying pre-adverse action notice. It said that my account may be deactivated because of some thing that came up on my background check. The email referenced a ticket that I had received in 2021. I found this very odd considering this information already been obtained in January, and there was nothing flagged or mentioned about it. I was pulled over in a general traffic stop and asked for my drivers license which I did not have on me. So the police officer wrote me a ticket for not having my drivers license in my possession. Everything that I’m reading says that this is not a big deal and that it should not restrict me from driving for Uber eats and that it is a minor traffic violation with no points against my license. I reach out to Uber to try to figure out what’s going on and they refer me to checker. They tell me that I need to dispute anything inaccurate with checker. So I went ahead and did that. checker of course comes back and says everything is valid. So I circle back with Uber to figure out what the big deal is and they tell me that my account is likely to be deactivated because I do not meet their standards. I said, what is it that I do not meet exactly? I was told I had a major violation. I explain to the person on the phone that I don’t have a major violation. it’s a minor violation. They then refer me back to checkr. So I go back to checkr and explain to them that whatever they’re showing Uber says a major violation when it’s in fact, a minor violation. Checker has no idea what I’m talking about. So then I go back to Uber and I tell them they must be misinterpreting the information and that it needs to be clarified. This is a minor violation. I just kept getting the runaround with Uber and they kept sending me back to checker and this is really annoying and frustrating for me because I enjoyed working for them and made more money with them than I did with Doordash. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Is there anything I can do? I feel like I should just cut my losses and move on with my life but the injustice of the whole thing is really frustrating.
