Question, you're doing a fleet rental?

The fleet owner pays the ezpass and you pay rental plus last weeks tolls to Tower every week?

The way this is working out I would just expect to be hittting the ATM (my fleet only accepts cash, long story) to cover the massive amount that's going to finally when you do your weekly rental re-up. Keep a good estimate on how much you owe and eventually NYC will catch up. Just expect the masssive extra payment to eventually come.

I've been getting cars from a rental fleet going on 11 years off and on. YOU are THEIR customr and every driver on their books is going through the same issue. You might want to talk to your contact at tower and ask what is going to happen.

They might even let you go on a payment plan if you're not a pain in the ass. I don't know tower's reputation for that thou. They also might not be able to do that if fthey suddenly do that if they get a $50,000 toll bill for the last 6 weeks between all their cars. I would not plan on this being the case.

I have my own ez pass.... It was always charging my eZ pass account and not that of towers.... Every toll I'm going through it's coming on my EZ pass account but I'm not being charged for it yet... I don't want them to pay the bill and at the same time take to Tower who will eventually want to charge me double...

So here's the deal. I would drop the tower owned car off your epass acount.

There's 2 ways the system picks up the car for 4 possible outcomes.

1. The transponder triggered for the account.
2. The system detected a no/pay and charged the license plate.
3. Both OCCUR at once
4. Neither occurs due to glitching out etc.

Now the system should be setup to avoid double payments. But the thing is both accounts getting charged wouldn't be detected.

The only reason I would have my own account is if there's a discount to you having your own. If it costs you the ssame amount I would drop it. If ythere's a savings well, it is what it is.

Peronally I would pull your transponder out of the car until they fix it and just pay your shop.

tower requires you have your own transponder....they charge $14 for the $6 tolls and new Jersey tolls you don't want to even know. So I have no option but to keep my transponder

The pay per trip option is not working at the moment (they don't seem to be able to fix it for whatever reason) I was on that plan for years until they started this stupid "system upgrade" now they can't process bank payments and you can only pay by a credit/debit card, and therefore, we're no longer able to have a PPT since it requires a linked checking account. I removed all my other payment info on file, so that they couldn't charge my CC those ridiculous auto replenishment amounts in advance, and just do weekly manual payments (without saving the credit card info) just to bring the account balance back to $0.
