I advice that you dont believe in “ another driver marched to this request.

I have seen some cases where the rider cancels the trip as soon as he sees the price. So it is not that another driver matches to this request but rider cancelling. The message Uber gives is misleading here.

"...marched" ?

Second, the pax sees the estimated price before confirming pickup request.

Third what your describing is a feature of Trip Radar which it's intention is to be a secondary source of trips that may be declined by the original driver requested for that trip.

What they are doing is sending that one trip out to multiple drivers, the first one gets it as a normal ping and the rest in the area (a few seconds later) get it on Trip Radar. It's to quickly line up another driver for that trip instead of pinging one at a time.

Another place you'll see what your describing is on a Reservation request.

Both Trip Radar and Reservations seem to work on a Hungry Hippo approach where the first driver who accepts it gets it. The rest get told "Another driver was matched to this request" or something similar in wording. That's been my limited experience with using it.

If your seeing this on a normal upfront ping , then its something new or possibly a glitch in the matrix.

Much more likely. Either is a possibility but it's not as if Uber or Lyft have a hard time telling a driver that a pax has cancelled.

Oh yeah, the switcheroo is real. And what's worse is that the Lyft app often doesn't tell you anything. Sometimes the ride just "disappears" as if it was never there. No text, no cancellation notice. So if you're not paying attention to the app you might end up at the pickup where the pax has cancelled or gotten switched to a different driver. Super frustrating.

How have you "seen" a rider cancel??
Passenger see the fare before they order. So I'm not sure how that would apply to them canceling after ordering

I don't believe first driver to accept on Trip Radar gets the ping. Uber decides who gets it on other metrics of their own.
I agree with you. I don't think it's the first driver who accepts it on trip radar is the driver who gets it. I believe it goes out with different dollar amounts to different drivers and my guess is out of the drivers who are willing to do it they sent it to the driver his willing to do it for the cheapest. I could be wrong but they definitely don't send it to the first driver who accepts it. The app even tells you we're seeing if you're the best match

I don't have Trip Radar and only experienced it briefly and watched a video on it, so I'll defer to your assessment.
