The Herz rentals need to be shut down....
Yes I agree. You know my husband was far away from home dropping off a Uber customer in San Diego. Before dropping her off at the airport he hit a pot hole.. which flattened the tire and bent the wheel. He called hertz for a tow because spare wheel did not work properly on the car. So the tow truck picked up the rental. My husband had to pay $60 to get a ride from an Uber to give him a ride to the shop where they took the rental for repair. And he was told that the car had to stay in the shop for repair. They made him take all his things out of the car. And left him stranded out there in San Diego. My husband was told he could not rent another vehicle the next day. N

I had to wait four hours for a tow, then the driver shook me down for all the money I had in my pocket to let me ride with him down to the repair shop. It was also freezing outside and I had to sit in the car for hours with no heat. Then Lyft kept my money for months before giving me the refund I was entitled to. And they tried to stick me with a cleaning fee.

I went to the dealer already, and they jacked up the price so I ended up not saving anything, and the high interest now is not a good time to buy.
You need to get pre-approved through a credit union. Even their rates are outrageous today but they are better than commercial lenders. Many dealers won’t want to accept you though if you are doing outside financing. They may be willing to match the interest rate though. I dealt with some very stubborn dealership people a few years back who absolutely refused to work with my credit union and it was amazing how low they could go once they knew I had an offer at 3%. Because their first offer I think was at 8%.

Hertz and Lyft don't repair until something with the car, I have many problems with lyft rental car, One day I brought the lyft car for inspection, and the mechanic said the lyft vehicle failed inspection. I didn't want to get blamed for my fault in doing something to the car, so I returned the car to Lyft. Lyft now puts a big tv ad on the top of the car and sometimes they say that the software multifunction doesn't pay them for the tv ad on the top vehicle.

It absolutely makes no sense to rent when you could buy, except if you’re the one who has to rent. Hence the reason why so many of these privately owned ride share rental company’s with late model vehicles are everywhere. Not many people have a few thousand dollars to put down for a down payment on a vehicle. But they can come up with the 300 a week, with in house provided car insurance and all maintenance covered and no initial deposit. Sure you end up making Bentley type car payments for a 2008 Prius. No it doesn’t make logical sense, but not a lot of adults have the luxury to wait for a good economical deal, or their credit to improve or be able to save a large enough down payment. I mean we literally drive people every day living Breathing this trap, and yet we still asking these very tone deaf questions.. like why doesn’t the ride share driver just go out and buy a car? Sounds like why doesn’t he just pull himself up by his boot straps?
