Hi I have been doing Uber on and off for a bit for some extra cash. I have long service coming up at my full time job and was think of doing some weekday shifts. Does anyone do 12 hour days, and what sort of money do you make?

Plenty of drivers do 12 hour days,

What Money makes varies between drivers

It can be bewteen $20/hour to $60/hour before expenses
Depending where you drive & experience

So not bad money if you do 5 or 6 days at 12 hours?
Do you get many comfort rides?

To be honest I don't want to encourage anymore drivers to drive 😂
As you basically are in competition with other drivers 😂

There so many ants on the road.

Once new years day is over, January will be very quiet , if you planning to drive in January it will be slim pickings particularly for not experienced drivers.

Comfort rides is not many,
Most on X but I'm seeing a big increase in uber green now

Check my previous posts , you will find stacks of info

I know, you don't! Shut up!

16 hrs a days work if you need money.
I dare you to say otherwise. The economy is "good", at least is what they are telling us on the telly, no?
I am in Chicago, so fortunate, the Starbucks caffe mocca taste is irresistible here. Just went up from $3 to $6. Did I mention my property tax going up another $1000 per year? Pfff, I need a beer and a hooker to ease my mind, life's too damn hard now.

I don’t know about there, but I would never do 12hours unless the money was good, and it never is. There’s probably 6-7hours of ok money, then the next 5-6hours is very bad and your average hourly rate decreases, some days you might get a good 10hour run, my logic is il keep working if it’s ok money, as soon as it stops then I call it a day, I pick the best days to work and the best times.

and this time of year is even harder, all those part timers that have a full time job now decide to do Uber fulltime since they are on holiday from their full time job, so market is completely saturated, with too many drivers, and after Xmas people have less money, people aren’t travelling as much, most are on holidays too, This January I’m not even gonna work for a 2-3weeks, it’s just not worth it,

Airport waiting bay (people here call it the cage) is a good source of information on rideshare from mostly all full time drivers. What I gather is that a full time Uber driver does 14 hours minimum a day, not 12 hours. That's total hours sitting in the car. They do that by accepting jobs on other platforms like Ola and Didi to extend the 12hr limit on Uber. Some full time drivers have told me that they also often short nap in the car and go home every 2nd day if it's an unusually busy period of the week to get a bed rest. (They usually live in location's far from the core driving areas so it doesn't make sense for them to go home and drive back every day). Full time in rideshare is not the standard 8hrs a day like full time in a normal job, I would say 12 hours total sitting in the car 6 days a week is the bare minimum for full time drivers but realistically what I have been told is it's more like 14hrs a day average.

If I use this info and do some napkin math, a normal job would be 40hrs a week + 8hrs average commute time which is 48hrs a week. Uber driver at a bare minimum 13.5hrs a day (includes commute), 6 days a week is 81hrs a week to make a similar income as the minimum award wage normal jobs. So essentially you have to work 33 hours more than a standard minimum wage award job for the same income after all expenses, taxes, annual leave, public holidays, sick leave and Super is removed. If you are a short stay migrant (student visa) and don't care for annual leave pay, public holiday pay, sick leave pay and retirement Super then you can artificially say you earn a lot more than the standard minimum award wage job if working 80hrs a week driving Uber.

You forgot to mention the flexibility of working most waking hours to reach the minimum 81 hours a week. How good is that for flexibility?

It is interesting though ,based on 5.5l economy, u would use 5500 litres annually based on 100k annual mileage per year.

91 unleaded is just under 160c with Uber Bp discount so just over $8k per year based on current Sydney Bp petrol prices.

Assuming full timer would average $2-$3k based on Mulder type hours averaged out weekly per year.

Of course, other costs such as gst, servicing, deprecation, insurance to come off that, but u would pretty much be on average wages Australia ,assuming u could gross $2500k per week after Uber fee.

Fair play to u Mulder👍👍👍

Yea the great thing about Haval Hybrids is they are tuned for 91 Ron fuel. Can't use E10 (not recommended) but 91 Ron is perfectly fine making them very cheap to run. I have started to see so many Haval Hybrids with Uber stickers now but most are the bigger H6 variant and not the smaller Jolion that Mulder drives. Last night I saw a white Haval Jolion with an Uber sticker in the city and I started following it screaming at the top of my voice, MOULDER MOOOOOOLDER, MULDER. Then I realised, wait, that's a bit weird, don't do that, look like a crazy person. Then I started following the car hoping it was Mulder so I can learn the tricks of where he hunts for pings around the city area, did that for a good 10 mins hahahahahahah. I have gathered some trick spots from following that Haval, may or may not be Mulder hehehehe.
