Yeah. Lol. Keep denying it. Lmao. You have no life. I'm done for the night. I'm out. P.s. you will always be a *.
You bet your sweet patootie I’ll always be whatever you said I am! I’d ask you for a vowel but it’ll prolly get you in trouble on the Boards. I trust your judgement. 😂

Step away from the keyboard, Cowboy. You’ll thank me tomorrow.

You probably should quit while you are ahead because nobody cares what you think
Maybe you should just go dancing instead 😘 View attachment 731726
He was never ahead to begin with. But quitting before getting completely ridiculed was an option.

I’m not sure why people willingly sabotage what could be a very valuable social experience. Clearly there are many experienced, knowlegeable people here whom everyone can learn from. I know I did, and continue doing so. The difference between what I thought when I first joined and what I understand now is HUGE.

What is the point of joining a group and opening with “you all suck and stink!”?

And when a supposed male tells a female she doesn’t have a life - thereby trying to stomache-punch her, as we all know how most chicks feel about these things - well, that tells me all I need to know. Sure, I’m not your typical chick, but he doesn’t know that. I.e. his intention was to hurt, I just let it slide. This time. 🤪

That's kinda why I reacted the way I did. On his other threads he was all foul mouthed and acting like a badass. He just got here and behaves like a grammar school kid. It's not like we haven't met 1000 trolls already

He’s drunk-posting. I can tell, as I did it myself when I was younger are really, really stupid. That’s why I was gentle. If there’s a decent bone in his body, he’s really embarrassed right about now. It sucks.

AS SOMEONE WHO ALSO WORKS ON THE RESTAURANT, I will say that all the platforms make it very difficult to get paid when a delivery partner (or one claiming to be one) steals the food by showing the phone then taking it without marking it picked up then cancels. The person who administers the restaurants account needs to wait for their statement then file for an appeal, then follow up on it. It takes a lot of organization and labor hours to stay on top of it to make sure they get paid.

This is why restaurants do this.

HOWEVER, I am also very very firmly against any restaurant asking a platform driver to swipe picked up in order to get receive the order. Delivery partners are NOT their employees and are under no obligation whatsoever to follow their directions. Its as simple as calling support while standing there and telling them that you have arrived at the restaurant is refusing to give you the order. The restaurant and their employees are not your boss. Drivers need to know their rights as independent contractors and stand up for themselves. Unfortunately, they are afraid these same restaurants will report them for being unprofessional or causing a scene, which can risk a partner's account to be put on hold or deactivated. So platform drivers cave to these illegal requests.

I will say that when I run restaurants (I am a consultant) and if an employee asked a platform driver to swipe before receiving the order, and refused to give it to that driver, that employee would be fired at the end of their shift.

Sorry, didn’t mean to age you. It’s just that you give out “old fart” energy. I always pictured you as a grumpy old man sitting on his porch with tales of “Back when I was your age…”

Honest mistake.
I am a curious one and do lots of research in my spare time so I can tend to know things elderly people and teens know in some cases.

So I do not think you "aged" me. I am not fine wine or cheese. You are warm but you went too far back. The best way I would like to describe the answer you may be seeking would be this, and I will leave it at that.

I'm tired of restaurants forcing me (the delivery driver) to confirm orders prior to dropping it off. I have to do that anyway in order to receive the address to the destination. It's very irritating due to the fact that the restaurant will NEVER get blamed by Uber for stealing food that they make. Lol. Restaurants, that does this, are wasting their time in policing food they're handing off to the delivery driver. I feel my privacy being invaded, especially by a rule that restaurants claim exist, doesn't exist in written form, and so they enforced upon you. At this point, restaurants are going to have to trust that the delivery driver will make the moral decision, and drop it off to the customer. What do y'all think about this?
I have no problem with confirming the pickup in front of a Restaurant employee. The problem I have is that 3 none English speaking delivery drivers picked up in front of me sho
ving their Phones in her Face and are not asked to confirm but me, a white english speaking driver being asked to please confirm. That happened to me @ Dialog Coffee on Sunset. I asked her why she asked me to confirm but not the 3 pickups before me. She said, " it's my prerogative to ask who I want to ask to confirm. I asked her, is it because I am white and speak english???? She just walked away. There you have it!

I do think it is important for the restaurant to take accountability for their orders being made, their time as well as money as they too are being charged for a service from Ubereats and all other food platforms. The fact that some restaurants (NOT ALL) require the driver to confirm their order is business, not personal, but just keep in mind that like customers, the owners or staff of an establishment can ban us drivers for being rude and not compliant as we are making a name and a good impression of our work ethics but doing our part for our customers.
So as,I agree with you that no one should bully anyone, but you have to either comply or find another career if this little inconvenience bothers you that much.
