We are only day 3 of October, crack 250 easy this month.

That's the most month out advanced bookings I've ever seen. And here I was thinking pax would book a day or 2 beforehand, perhaps a week tops. You've got bookings flat out 30 days in advance!!!
Weddings I understand, even the bus 2-3 weeks in advance, but airport trips 4 weeks out in a sedan when the city is saturated with 13cabs and ubers???

What do you mean by that comment?

Tell me where I mentioned anything racist?

Thanks Viva!!
Fail to see what was even remotely racist about the OP. Hairist, yes. Racist, no. Luckily pointing out the poor follicular style choices of some folks isn't classified as an abuse of their freedom to mullet, perm or shave as badly as they see fit.

Well, pretty sure that joking about denying service to Chirnside park, while pointing out obvious racial stereotypes is racist, even in jest.

You may not see it that way and you might not even care if you do, but I'll stand by my comment. It was meant in the same silly fashion that the original comment was, so if you blow it out of proportion, you only have yourself to blame. Care or don't, just pointing out how I see it.

As Uber drivers, we all make racist decisions about where we go. It's always racist but it's only an issue when you announce it publicly - because you're trying to rally support for the stereotype. Just because you think it, doesn't mean you have to publicly advocate it. Exercise some self reflection.

Anyway, I really don't care to be honest. It's not like the white bogan crowd in Chirnside Park is a model of social acceptance anyway - I just think that flaming an entire town, on a forum of mostly immigrants, is a bit ironic in the absurd.

My, my.... I feel like you may be responding as this was a little close to home.

"I've" never seen you comment on anything else in our forum that may have slightly resembled racism when it involves items that may effect the "mostly immigrants" you describe in your response.

If you did, screenshot or it didn't happen.

And how is it ironic at all?? "Please explain" lol

How is it racist? I didn't mention skin colour.

Anyway, I'm a born and bred Aussie. So if I want to have a bit of a laugh at my own kind, who are you to tell me.

The Australia / Melbourne, and the people that grew up with me, and even the majority of aussies I meet or know now, are sick of all the bloody "PC" police.

Also, I'm not an old man who grew up in the olden days when immigrants were few, and misunderstood.

Have a sense of humour. The Aussie way was / is to have a laugh at yourself and others.

I agree there is racism out there. But if believe I was being racist, you are incorrect.

Too many people in the world using the racist card for every little thing these days.

I bet you thought the cartoon of Serena Williams was racist too. Did you?

Fair Dinkum Mate get over it.

Lotta projection there, mate. Everything you said, I already addressed.

My opinion doesn't matter. I don't know you and your personal identity isn't transparent here. So, save me the fake outrage about the PC police - who cares if I think you're a racist? It's like you deliberately missed my point...

I made a flippant comment about you making a racist comment. Oh no. I'm sure your life is altered forever. Who's the precious one here? Who needs to get over it? Yeah...

Really? You think the guy didn't call folks in Chirnside bogans?

Is that deliberate or feigned ignorance, I can't actually tell?

I live nearby. It actually made me laugh and there are a bunch of cringey bogans out here. I made a snide retort that it was racist - which it is and then got accused of making mountains out of mole hills.

**** me dead, you guys are seriously testy for people that are outwardly trying to justify racially charged humor...

Why do you link describing people as bogans with racism?
Why do you link stereotyping with racism?
You do so seamlessly - they can be mutually exclusive.

Can be or are?

It seems to me that if I say "Black folks like fried chicken and use too much hair product" that I'm being both stereotypical and racist - because these elude to some unflattering, historical, characterizations. However, if you're black, these become an internal joke.

Just the same, If I joke about bogans, to a bogan, as a bogan, it's funny. If you're black, latino, Greek, or any minority, and go to make fun of a bogan - calling them a bogan- it's not going to be received correctly.

And you ****ing well know it...

Tim Minchin has that great bit called "Only a Ginger can call another Ginger a Ginger". It's all about this issue.

Anyway, you go on, make fun of any group you like. You're not kidding anyone though.
